The Senior Product Manager, Insurance works in conjunction with Capital Group (CG) insurance leadership to develop a comprehensive strategy for CG's overall insurance product offerings. They will be responsible for executing on various business initiatives that support CG's broader insurance efforts, ensuring products and offerings are appropriately positioned within CG and that product strategy is effectively executed in the marketplace.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and execute on insurance product segment strategy.
Lead elements of insurance product by developing and implementing innovative short- and long-term strategies for the CG insurance segment that take into consideration CG priorities and value proposition.Identify and assess initiatives to address offering gaps.Align new ideas by overseeing development of well-defined business cases, considering financial and customer impacts.Provide day-to-day business leadership and ownership of strategic efforts to ensure that business benefits are realized.Compile and apply market and competitive intelligence.
Add to the insurance team's body of knowledge around current and potential annuity product and market trends and have familiarity across insurance business lines.Able to identify and analyze key competitors.Share market and competitive intelligence findings and insights cross-functionally.Provide subject matter expertise in go-to-market efforts. Will partner closely across insurance client relationships; articulating Capital Group's insurance value proposition and leading as the subject matter expert when discussing product offerings/concepts.
Assimilate voice of customer and voice of business feedback.Provide industry level expertise at relevant client and industry events.Manage on-going relationship with key external partners and vendors and functional teams, establishing accountability and clear lines of communication; ensure alignment of activity with CG strategy.May be asked to manage performance of associates in the group and assure effective performance management of each team member.
May be asked to be responsible for associate and management development within the insurance segment.Participate in managing the business.
Proactively review processes to identify risk, assure best practices and align with current business needs.Establish governance/decision making models for large-scale programs of work, ensuring proper sponsorship and project delivery teams with new initiatives.

You have 10+ years of insurance industry experience in a product or solutions-oriented role.You have a detailed understanding of the insurance marketplace; actuarial knowledge a plus.You have demonstrated ability in recommending and communicating solutions on complex and broad matters.You have demonstrated excellent technical and analytical skills in areas around annuity and insurance product construction, pricing, and service/distribution model.You have demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills with a diverse group of associates, senior business leaders, and a diverse group of individuals outside the organization.You have demonstrated the ability to collaborate and develop/maintain working relationships inside and outside the organization to enable effective completion of business objectives.You have demonstrated effectiveness in leading/facilitating with senior business leaders on broad/controversial topics inside and outside the organization.You are comfortable traveling up to 25% of the time.
Southern California Base Salary Range: $163,779-$278,424
New York Base Salary Range: $173,629-$295,169
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
