About Senior Product Manager, Grocery and Retail Catalog

  About this role:

As a Senior Product Manager for Uber's Grocery and Retail Catalog, you'll play a key role in building the most complete and accurate product catalog in the world. Uber to date has successfully helped customers get restaurant food delivered to their doors. We are excited to bring that delight and convenience to virtually everything else. Today, we're focused on the grocery, convenience, alcohol and pharmacy sectors, but this team has broader ambitions to expand into plenty of other long-tail verticals in the future.

In this role, you will be working with a broad set of cross-functional stakeholders across operations, data science, design, engineering, marketing and more.

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

As Uber expands into new categories like grocery, we need to build a massive product catalog that is highly accurate so that our customers have confidence in what they're buying, our shoppers accurately find the right products, and merchants achieve the sales growth they are looking for. You will be responsible for partnering with global teams around the company to understand how the catalog can power each experience and develop a strategy to grow and enrich Uber's product catalog.

This is a representative sampling of the areas you might be tackling together with the team you're leading:

Develop OKRs that drive towards a more comprehensive and accurate catalogIdentify and prioritize new product attributes that we should be collecting to power various use cases in the experienceInvestigate new sources for product catalog dataWork with Uber AI to explore ML & LLM's to curate the product catalogCollaborate with Ops to develop processes for manually curating and auditing the accuracy of our product catalog

The ability to take on complex product challenges and find elegant, simplifying solutions to avoid making them our users and partner's problemsFinger-tippiness with data. You find a way to get the data you need and whip it into an insightful story with no help. You know how to leverage this data to make decisions without getting stuck in analysis paralysisA "Driver" mindset. You are biased toward action, a great collaborator, a master disambiguator/simplifier, and constantly pushing toward clarity and deliveryGrittiness. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and tackle something hands-onA high bar across the board - from your own contributions to the people you work with, to the products you work onA true passion for Uber's mission, our products, and the company's hybrid technology/operations natureA never-ending desire to grow and learn

We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let's move the world forward, together.

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber's cultural identity. Unless formally approved to work fully remotely, Uber expects employees to spend at least half of their work time in their assigned office. For certain roles, such as those based at green-light hubs, employees are expected to be in-office for 100% of their time.
