The Senior Procurement Category Manager is responsible for driving Procurement excellence across the enterprise. This role plays a crucial role in achieving financial and operational improvements by strategically procuring goods and services and overseeing a $20 million+ spend across various categories.
Responsibilities:
Manage multiple sourcing projects at once, prioritizing those with the most potential for financial and operational gains while minimizing unnecessary work.Use internal and market data to build comprehensive category strategies, assess products/services, risks, supplier landscape, cost drivers, and benchmarks to set clear goals and practical plans.Develop spreadsheet models for in-depth financial analysis, bid evaluation, and performance tracking.Negotiate with suppliers to improve savings and operational benefits, always considering risk management.Carrying out crucial project steps, such as market assessments, supplier prequalification, RFPs, and negotiations.Detail contract approvals to ensure clarity, fair pricing, performance standards, and operational safeguards.Collaborate and proactively connect with various functions to ensure all business partners are aligned with project goals, key decisions, and final outcomes.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance Procurement's results, quality, efficiency, and reputation.Use data analysis and partner engagement to discover new project opportunities that deliver outstanding results for the company.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in business. An advanced degree or equivalent experience a plus.3-5 years of strategic procurement category management experience in a multi-unit environmentValidated project management and independent initiativeStrong written and verbal communication with effective partner engagementMultitasking & adaptability with experience inspiring changeInfluencing & partnership skills, showcasing Procurement's valueData-driven decision making & articulate presentation skillsSophisticated Excel expertise, analytical & insightful abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel & PowerPoint)
