This job contributes to Starbucks success by leading a team of operations managers within a store to achieve business results while creating the Starbucks Reserve Experience for our customers and partners. The Siren Retail sr operations manager provides leadership expertise and support in retail food and beverage while continuously improving partner capability, customer experience and business results.
Your time is spent staffing, coaching, developing, and managing the performance of operations managers and partners, serving customers to create an exceptional, hospitable experience, maintaining a safe store environment, ensuring seamless day to day operations, and maximizing business performance across the location. The partner is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Starbucks mission and values.
Using your leadership experience, you will prioritize the following:
Leadership – As a leader of leaders, setting goals for the team, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together.
Drives the engagement, development and performance of all managers on their team.
Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a positive attitude, confidence in leadership and collaborative teamwork to achieve business results.
Supports the implementation of company programs, procedures, methods and practices to promote Starbucks key messages and achieve a competitive advantage.
Planning and Execution - Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results.
Business Requirements - Providing functional expertise and executing functional responsibilities:
Accesses retail support partners to support store-wide operations and to execute store and ecosystem wide initiatives, such as Partner Resources, Partner & Asset Protection, Finance, and Facilities.
Builds operations manager capability to analyze zone level business trends and results.
Pa rt ner Development & Team Building - Providing partners with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities, using collaboration and peer coaching to build effective teams
Develops and maintains a culture of confident and knowledgeable managers and partners that deliver differentiated experiences, prioritize the customers over tasks and deliver a welcoming, inspiring, rewarding and seamless experience.
Challenges and inspires partners to achieve business results.
Builds operations manager capability to coach, develop and manage the performance of their direct reports.
Basic Qualifications:
We’d love to hear from people with:
5+ years of experience managing in multi-unit retail, restaurant, large scale restaurant and/or hospitality organizations
Experience and proven capability in financial planning, forecasting, analysis, and profit and loss responsibility
Experience and proven in effective decision-making and operational problem-solving to achieve business optimization
Ability to increase store sales and profitability through operational improvement
Ability to recruit, assess, train, develop and promote partners
Available to work flexible hours, which could include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
21+ years of age
Preferred Qualifications
Education: College degree or experience in a closely related field may substitute for a portion of the required experience
Leadership experience in a high volume, full service, and structured restaurant concept
Experience with lifestyle based experiential brands, hospitality, big-box and/or specialty retail, restaurants and/or fine dining preferred
Experience with building and cultivating relationships with customers, partners, local market leaders (internal and external) and the community
Additional languages beneficial
