The Opportunity:
The Senior Operations Engineer oversees the effective installation and performance of advanced operating system hardware and software on Fisher Investment's Core Infrastructure. You will maintain, monitor, and analyze system components, make recommendations and implement changes. You will report to the Infrastructure Operations Team Lead.
The Day-to-Day:
Oversee various technologies and solutions across the core Infrastructure environment end-to-end to effectively monitor and manage the reliability and stability of the products and solutionsManage the efficient daily operations and maintenance of the IT services with best practices, automation and orchestration capabilities to ensure effectiveness of the serviceProvide effective solutions and take end-to-end ownership to anticipate, prevent and solve issues Proactively identify areas for improvement and leads the effort in standardizing, streamlining, and enhancing processesResponsible for hardware lifecycle, application deployments, and providing root cause analysis of chronic or repeat incidentsManage adherence to predefined Service level agreements and providing necessary reporting to executive teamTroubleshoot and configure various technologies within Fisher's Core InfrastructureCollaborate with Engineering Teams to gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systemsImplement strategies for improving or further using Infrastructure SystemsMonitor system availability, performance, and service levels Resolve issues, alerts, and incidents in the daily Infrastructure Operations and Business Support Teams based on predefined service level agreements regarding network, telecom, and system availability, performance, and service levels (Tier 3 operational support)Oversee communication and coordination with users and other groups on lapse in services, performing root cause analyses, and receiving patching details and application deployment packagesEscalate unresolved issues accordinglyProvide international and 24/7 support via on-call duties and working a flexible off-hours schedule for planned and unplanned maintenanceBe a mentor to engineers, providing assistance, guidance and training as require
Your Qualifications:
8+ years' experience in Information Technology; 6+ years' experience in Infrastructure and OperationsExperience within Core InfrastructureExpert knowledge of monitoring Technology environments and solving availability, performance, and service level incidentsExpert level working knowledge of CommvaultDeep understanding of Commvault policy-drive backup/restore architecture and best practicesAdvanced Knowledge in issues related to Commvault Catalog databases, Storage Units, Policies, De-Duplication, and vStorage APIsAdvanced skills in TCP/IP, Fiber Channel and SAN technologiesAdvanced knowledge in data center operations including handling tape library configuration and daily operationsAdvanced skills in supporting VMware virtual architecture and cloud virtualizationBachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
Compensation:
$125,000 - $165,000 base salary per year in the state of WA - New hires should expect to start at the lower end of the range depending on experienceEligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance
