Job Description
A Fortune 50 client is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to come join their enterprise lab networking team as they have several projects slated for 2024. Majority of the projects are going to be a combination of PON (move to 25G PON), continuous certification of new equipment, Layer 1 optics work around their Fiber network, some DWDM, and optical work. There might also be some projects around RAN Layer 1 Optical Ethernet, however this role is not looking for a RAN Engineer. The ideal candidate will have past experience testing and troubleshooting Passive Optical Networks, however, we are open to strong Network Engineers who are strong in TCP/IP networks, design setup and testing and running traffic and tool. This role is onsite, five days a week (Monday -- Friday) in this client's lab in Plano, TX.
Skills and Requirements
* 5+ years of experience in TCP/IP network design setup, and testing
* Ability to design and implement complex multi-vendor TCP/IP networks -- ability to diagnose impact to throughput and latency
* Any years of experience hands on testing PON (Passive Optical Network)
* Experience testing and troubleshooting using tools such as Spirent Test Center, Wireshark and similar protocol analyzers, iperf, copper and fiber network test sets, etc.
* Any scripting or automation experience -- Python or Shell preferred
* Strong understanding of network security principles, firewalls, and common vulnerabilities.
* Ability to manage and deliver upon demands of multiple, simultaneous tasks in a team environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with peers, partners, and vendors.
* Ability to produce clear and concise documentation of test plans, results, bugs and troubleshooting steps, etc.
* One or more of the following certifications: Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, Juniper JCNIE, Palo Alto PCCET/PCCSE, CompTIA Network+/Security+, CISSP, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Advanced Networking null
