Amazon Web Services (AWS) is leading the next paradigm shift in computing and is looking for an accomplished leader for the role of Senior Migration Solutions Architect, Enterprise Transformation (ET) in the AWS Partner Organization.
You would be a seasoned Technology Architect helping to develop and deliver on a migration strategy to support organizations as they transition to the cloud working with key strategic, global consulting partners. In this role, you will partner with Partner Development Managers to create and present customer-facing architectures of widely varying size and complexity and be a key member of a core team establishing customer migration best practices. In collaboration with Partner Development Managers and Customer Solution Managers, you will drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers by identifying and closing large-scale IT Outsourcing renewals with the partners.
In this role, you will need to be technically capable, enjoy learning and introducing new technology in order to help colleagues and customers embrace and adopt that technology, and be skilled at communicating technology strategies to customers in order to help colleagues and customers embrace and adopt new technology. You will also need to be proficient at interacting, communicating and partnering with other departments within AWS such as our services teams, marketing, and professional services.
Position may require the ability to travel 25% - 40% of the time, as needed.
Location: Switzerland Zurich or Geneva (Proficiency in French & English (speaking and writing)) - open to people willing to relocate to Switzerland
Key job responsibilities
• Ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services onto the AWS platform
• Build repeatable mechanisms, architectures, solutions, and playbooks to enable faster, cheaper, predictable, and risk-free workload migrations to AWS
• Define and execute on the technology migration strategy by engaging highly technical teams within AWS (other Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, professional services consultants and consulting/managed services partners) to define migration pathways.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community
• Guide and motivate the development of whitepapers, data sheets, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices
• Share customer feedback to internal product management and engineering teams to help drive the future of AWS
• Work with the team to drive POCs to completion
• Work with the team to organize technical workshops and facilitate the sharing of knowledge across teams
• Build deep relationships with decision makers within customer accounts to enable them to be “Cloud advocates”
• Strategy & Innovation: articulate business/industry fundamentals (e.g., ROI, TCO, cost benefit analysis); understand regulations and operational excellence; familiarity with business strategy and trends in the IT industry (e.g., CI/CD, Migration, AI…etc.)
• Technology Breadth: demonstrate architectural best practices applied across a breadth of technologies to solve organizational problems, articulate views/roadmaps for future development, and understand the interaction between infrastructure, operations, and development.

Basic Qualifications
• 10+ years of hands-on technical design, implementation or consulting experience.
• 5+ years of experience in customer/partner facing senior technical positions within solution architecture or technical sales teams, and enterprise solution selling experience.
• Experience leading architecture for public cloud migrations (AWS, Azure or GCP) and multi-tower global customer transformations in areas such as mainframe, SAP, or Oracle.
• Broad based technology experience including: cloud migration, cloud infrastructure, relational databases, NoSQL databases, analytics, networking, security, storage, compute, continuous deployment, containers, and management and monitoring.
• Experience leading white boarding sessions and delivering multi-day workshops to architects, operations staff, developers, and cloud technologist
• Demonstrated ownership of a large IT project or software development effort
• Demonstrate architectural best practices applied across a breadth of technologies to solve organizational problems, articulate views/roadmaps for future development, and understand the interaction between infrastructure, operations, and development
• Demonstrate detailed knowledge of concepts, implementation, patterns, and issues of at least four technology areas
• Strong leadership capabilities, having the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse set of customers or partners, across multiple disciplines.
• Strong presentation and written communication skills; high degree of comfort with technical and Executive audiences.
• Strong judgement and business acumen in determining strategic vision and running a complex technical business.
• Bachelor's Degree in Technical Discipline or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications
• A Master’s Degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent technical degree
• 10+ years of experience with teams architecting and deploying complex solutions for enterprise customers
• 5+ years of experience architecting and deploying cloud solutions
• Large-scale systems integration involving on-premises technology and public cloud platforms
• Experience architecting and deploying production cloud workloads on AWS
• Enterprise Architecture experience, and building modern cloud strategies
• Experience executing large scale data center transformation or application migration and modernization projects
• Cloud and/or AWS experience; AWS Certifications or other cloud certifications.
• Experience in SAP migration to the cloud, or Mainframe migration/modernization.
• International technical sales and delivery experience w/ global F500 enterprise customers and partners.
