Vanguard’s Financial Advisor Services (FAS) Marketing team is looking for a Marketing Strategist to lead the marketing strategy development and execution for Vanguard's Wealth Management offer for advisors. Wealth Management in FAS includes our Financial Planning & Coaching offers, Advisor’s Alpha, and broader thought leadership to help advisors optimize their value to their clients, drive higher investment returns, and grow their own businesses. The marketing strategist uses client research, market realities, business value, competitive dynamics, and analytics to develop the marketing strategy for Wealth Management and then continuously iterates the strategy to improve business outcomes.
This role is responsible for defining target audiences, creating a differentiated value proposition, developing positioning/messaging, and establishing advisor journeys and optimal experiences for the offer. Equally important, the marketing strategist serves as a liaison with stakeholders across FAS and with partner departments to identify and prioritize opportunities to drive significant value for the business.
This role is in Vanguard's Strategy, Product, Marketing, Communications (SPMC) division which is responsible for Vanguard's Corporate Strategy and Strategic Business Development, investment product development and oversight, Global Marketing, and Corporate Communications.
Senior Marketing Strategist:
Leads product management activities for multiple products, or one strategic product, with cross-divisional impact.
Influences and collaborates with cross-functional teams to create best practices that drive significant change to the client experience. Ensures business outcomes are linked to business case drivers.
Coaches product teams towards best practices and learnings. Oversee's product teams' support of the messaging, communication, and customer outreach as necessary.
Facilitates strong business support through working with team members to promote a consistent approach to decisions/impacts and client propositions. Drives connection across all appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
Leads the planning, development and implementation of new products with cross-divisional impact. Defines and analyzes markets, developing detailed product features and requirements, and developing implementation plans.
Influences and employs a variety of qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to continually improve the user experience.
Participates in and influences ongoing business planning and departmental prioritization activities.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
An ideal candidate:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred.
Minimum of eight years related business experience. Three years of leading large cross-functional teams on major organizational projects preferred.
This is a hybrid role with Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in the office and Monday and Friday are remote.
