This position is a member of the Global Manufacturing Engineering team, who supports the plants with new process innovation and manufacturing standardization. The responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer primarily focus on the development of scalable assembly processes for next generation battery products.
Your Responsibilities
Identify and lead the development of new assembly processes or modifications to existing processes including testing of new processes/tooling, performing process capability studies, DOE’s, and establishing process parameters through the use of the prototype lab, production facility, or other selective resources
Develop and update standards and bills of process to ensure a consistent global process approach to battery pack manufacturing
Collaborate with product engineering on new product concepts to ensure the design is manufacturable
Prepare initial process flow and layouts along with manufacturing cost estimates on assigned projects in conjunction with the plant
Lead the DFM/DFA workshop once a new product is approved for production
Work with local manufacturing engineering on new programs to create the equipment statement of requirements, identify the equipment supplier, and continue to support the equipment design process through Design Reviews
Your profile
Degree in engineering (Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) or a related field
Proven track record in industrial engineering, e.g., as an engineer within a tech-manufacturing environment, ideally in automotive
Strong knowledge of assembly processes, tooling and manufacturing standards
Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
Strong team and communication skills, as well as a sense of responsibility
Ability to work within a global team and interact with various cultures to achieve success
Willingness to travel within Germany and abroad
Excellent MS Office skills
Fluent in German and English
