Enterprise Data Governance & Platforms (EDGP) is part of the larger Enterprise Digital and Data Solutions (EDDS) organization. EDGP improves the customer experience and drives business growth through robust enterprise-wide data policies and governance and enabling a data-driven culture, while developing digital and data platforms that provide insightful customer relationships and allow users to leverage enterprise-wide data capabilities.
The Enterprise Data Platforms (EDP) organization is part of the American Express Enterprise Digital and Data Solutions (EDDS) Group. EDP manages the Big Data Ecosystem which helps to centralize data across the company with built-in governance and democratization of access to a broad user community. The team is driving the future of our business by building products and platforms that delivers trusted and quality data for decision science processes, big data applications and analytical users.
We are looking for a Senior Solution Manager for our Data Platform Solutions team within the Enterprise Data Platforms organization. This role works closely with Business, Technology, and Infrastructure partners to address user challenges and drive solutions to modernize the enterprise data platform.
Functional Responsibilities:
Drive the Solution Architecture for developing the strategy and delivery execution of scalable data solutions for enterprise usage (example framework areas are data ingestion, data quality, data lifecycle management, access entitlement).
Understand the current on-prem big data platform landscape, architect the target state architecture, and execute the modernization roadmap to public cloud infrastructure.
Define the product vision and strategy for the cloud capabilities in close partnership with technology teams and business stakeholders across the enterprise.
Collaborate with product teams, solution team and technology partners to deliver customer centric solutions best tailored to AXP colleague and customer needs.
Champion an external perspective in delivering solutions via a deep understanding of the external landscape; inspire and infuse external perspective across workstreams to modernize the platform.
Drive large-scale enterprise programs such as Cloud transformation where developing unique customer solutions is required.
Develop presentations and communicate with various levels of leadership across the enterprise.
Identify needs, opportunities, gaps, and resolve customer challenges with EDP product offerings and enhancements.
Qualifications:
5 years of product owner experience in driving agile development processes to deliver new product asks.
Strong understanding of products and services in GCP platform, cloud technology, streaming solutions, and third-party cloud products.
Knowledge of big data platform architecture, data management and newer developments in the industry.
Highly organized and self-motivated individual who can combine problem-resolution, and critical thinking to apply a business lens to design customer-obsessed solutions.
Inherent customer focus with an ability to interact with leaders at all levels of the organization.
Possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, excellent communication & collaboration skills; ability to build relationships, influence decisions, and inspire cross-functional teams to deliver on shared objectives.
Confidence in decision-making in complex & ambiguous situations; comfortable troubleshooting and aligning conflicting interests.
Degree in STEM fields with work experience in information management, strategy, or the payments business.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
