Amazon is looking for a general manager with proven experience in strategy, execution, negotiation, and team development to lead its US Personal Computers business.
The Senior Manager of Vendor Management (DMM) will lead the vendor management team and own the Retail category P&L and vendor portfolio for US PCs (Computers and Computer Accessories). The DMM is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the department, focusing on customer experience, selection growth, customer value, and profitability. The DMM serves as a primary advocate for our customer and must understand the competitive and industry landscape.
As a member of the director/general manager’s senior team, you will partner with functional peers in setting the business’ long range strategic plans and 3-year financial plan. You will possess direct knowledge of all retail functions within the business (vendor management, marketing, operations and finance) and be capable of acting as a proxy for the general manager in high level meetings with both internal and external executives.
Key job responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage a full P&L, including planning, forecasting and driving growth for the category, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the business. This entails owning supplier relationships, along with responsibility for driving strategic projects to achieve business objectives in both the B2C and B2B segments.
Set goals and strategic direction for the department, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and vision.
Drive strategic negotiations with external vendors.
Hire, develop and lead team of Retail Vendor Managers.
Generate and implement big ideas to drive business improvement, innovation, and scale within the category and across the retail business as a whole.
Cross functional collaboration on necessary systems and processes to support business needs, including retail systems, site merchandising and in-stock.
Identify industry trends that are relevant to customer selection and experience.
Collaborate on Marketing and Merchandising initiatives.
Innovate and implement new customer and vendor programs to drive growth

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of team management experience
7+ years of operational and/or retail management experience
Bachelor's degree
Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion or inventory management
Experience using data to influence business decisions
Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
Experience with business analysis
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading and transforming highly effective organizations
Experience with P&L responsibility and delivering strong financial results
MBA
Ability to work within an ambiguous environment and manage change
Experience with business process documentation and improvement
Self-motivated, able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team and cross-functionally as projects dictate

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $126,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $236,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
