ROLE SUMMARY
You will lead and execute scientific writing support for Vaccine Research and Development (VRD) external communications including, but not limited to, manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations. You will collaborate with Research Scientific Leads, Subject Matter Experts and Key Stakeholders to ensure publications are completed in a timely manner, with high quality, and in compliance at all steps. You will partner with colleagues across the Scientific Affairs team on shared goals and deliverables.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans and writes scientific documents that are within the scope of VRD, including, but not limited to, publications and presentations
Leads document preparation activities, including organizing and interpreting scientific and statistical data, writing documents, and ensuring their review by relevant parties. Documents must be of high quality, scientifically accurate, and prepared according to established timelines
Provides experienced process oversight for the development of scientific research documents including preclinical, exploratory clinical, and research collaboration activities, working as a liaison with relevant functional representatives within VRD, Pfizer in general and key external parties
Prepares publication-quality figures as necessary for scientific publications
Leads and/or participates in all relevant meetings for document preparation, such as kickoff meetings, and is responsible for soliciting, interpreting, and incorporating reviewer comments
Provides oversight for document quality checks as well as inputs on new or revised procedures for document preparation including relevant SOPs
Co-leads monthly, Preclinical Publication Meeting including agenda setting and content creation
Co-leads VRD Non-Clinical Publication Registration System including updating System based on needs and best practices
Conducts literature reviews, as needed
Attends program research meetings and Vaccines Scientific Publications Committee meetings, as needed
Active contributor and thought partner for Scientific Affairs activities including, but not limited to, monthly VRD Seminar Series, annual Science Day, Summer Growth Interns, STEM programming, LitShare tool, and various Site Affairs events
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
PhD and a minimum of 4 years of document writing and publication experience (Lead Author) or similar experience OR MS and a minimum 6 years of document writing and publication experience (Lead Author) or similar experience OR BS and a minimum of 8 years of document writing and publication experience (Lead Author) or similar experience
Strong knowledge of vaccines or infectious diseases
Working knowledge of statistics, data analysis, and data interpretation
Experience analyzing and interpreting complex data from different scientific disciplines
Excellent scientific writing skills including experience editing and data quality review
Excellent verbal communication skills
Project Management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
PhD in Biological Sciences or related science discipline
Familiarity with software for publication graphics (e.g GraphPad Prism, Excel, PyMol, Adobe Illustrator, BioRender)
Experience delivering results with limited direction and guidance in a tight deadline environment
Experience collaborating with scientists, researchers, and executives
Experience delivering results in a complex, fast paced environment with multiple competing priorities

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $99,900.00 to $166,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
