Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
12 years of experience working on technology policy issues within government, think tanks, public interest groups, or relevant industry associations.
Preferred qualifications: Experience with government advocacy, and strong diplomacy and advocacy skills.
Experience leading and managing programs or projects with cross-functional working groups.
Knowledge of digital technologies and the policy environments that surround them, or an ability to solve technical and regulatory issues.
Familiarity with the parliamentary and government processes, particularly in Australia.
Ability to exercise good strategic judgment in a rapidly changing environment and act independently while being a team player.

Responsibilities
Define and implement Google policy and government relations objectives at the national and regional levels. Represent Google positions directly with policy makers, industry associations, and other organizations. Develop and manage relationships with the Australian and New Zealand Governments and key national stakeholders. Collaborate within a global team to develop public policy strategies and positions for Google including the creation of materials supporting advocacy. Identify, assess, and address regulatory challenges to Google business objectives in key regulated industries and the public sector market in cross-functional partnership. Identify opportunities for Google to address government challenges and opportunities while also working with trade associations, industry partners, and other allies to promote support for Google's public policy positions.
