About the Team:
As a seasoned Senior Manager of Software Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in leading and mentoring both managerial and individual contributor teams, guiding them towards the achievement of a defined mission. This role involves effective management of internal and external resources, alignment with project priorities, and fostering relationships with business units to identify current needs and future opportunities. Additionally, you will champion the implementation of innovative Enterprise Technology processes, stay abreast of software development trends, and contribute to strategic discussions as a subject matter expert, all while emphasizing continuous improvement and investing in the professional growth of your team members.
About the Role:
• As a manager of managers and individual contributors, you'll need to build, manage, and mentor multiple engineering teams towards achieving a focused mission
• Be part of an effective front line Leadership team and assist them with developing their direct reports as to drive a high-performance culture and environment
• Work with the business teams world-wide to define organization roadmaps, drive execution of technology projects, drive operational excellence initiatives and manage technology operations
• Manage internal and external resources and staffing model to ensure alignment with project priorities
• Collaborate and build relationships with business units to understand the current state and needs and makes recommendations for future opportunities
• Consults with a variety of business units and/or entities to conduct a needs analysis, gap analysis, recommendations related to new applications, reporting capabilities or information portals to streamline and automate business practices
• Responsible for recommendations to annual budgets, budget monitoring and variance documentation
• Devise and implement Enterprise Technology processes, architectures and strategies
• Improve the efficiency of SDLC, scope control, issue management and project execution. Effectively remove impediments for teams
• Provide support and ongoing reinforcement of change management philosophies, run and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to senior management
• Represent Development in architecture/design phase meetings on all engineering projects to provide input and intimately learn about the code
• Work closely with Security, Risk and Change Management teams to ensure processes, procedures and best practices all confirm to UKG audit requirements
Qualifications
About You:
Basic Qualifications:
• 7+ years of people management experience with geographically distributed development teams
• 5+ years of expertise in Software Development in Object-Oriented language like .Net, java
• Broad understanding of various cloud development technologies and trends, developer preferences and challenges
•Proficiency in agile development life cycle
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Salesforce, Dynamics 365 or other ERP systems, Enterprise Application Integrations is a plus.
• Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to coach, inspire and mentor managers and individual team members
