Vanguard is taking steps to bolster its resiliency posture across infrastructure, cloud, and application security. We are seeking a senior leader and program manager with a strong solutions delivery background in to coordinate the development of contingency applications across multiple lines of business for specific but essential functions. This role will lead a team of matrixed and direct reports to track the schedule and dependencies of a portfolio of development projects. This includes leading requirements sessions to uncover infrastructure and platform dependencies, of each application, interdependencies across applications, and creation of a hosting roadmap for aligned peer engineering teams to deliver. It also includes centralized documentation to support the development teams for resiliency and security requirements, best practices, validated patterns, and coordinate validating compliance of designs. A strong candidate will have prior management & leadership experience, IT development/delivery experience, an understanding of cloud infrastructure, and be able to collaborate with architects from multiple specialized disciplines.
In this role you will: Hire, evaluate, and supervise crew. Provide guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Set performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.Manage cross-divisional technology-related programs and multiple technology-related workstreams within a larger program. Drive all phases of the project lifecycle from inception through implementation while ensuring that business objectives are delivered with high quality and within targeted timeframes.Create and maintain a multi-year program strategy that clearly identifies specific actions and tasks needed to achieve future state goals. Provide written and verbal communication to many different audiences within Vanguard on the status of the program.Build and maintain strategic relationships across sites, departments, divisions, and internal and external partners to support their program initiatives. Develops strong relationships with program leadership, sponsors, and workstream leads.Ensure all steps are taken to mitigate risk and maintains control, compliance, audit, and legal requirements for technology projects. Integrates and oversees change management efforts across the overall program. Closely monitor program costs and budget and escalates cost variances appropriately and timely. What it takes:
Minimum of 8+ years of progressively responsible and related business experience, with at least four years of technical project management experience. Previous people-leadership experience preferred.
Undergraduate degree in related field (Computer Science, Engineering) required. Graduate degree preferred.
