ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Global Transport team provides the center of expertise for the global Transport network. It sets the strategy, frameworks, guidelines and provides functional expertise in network design across the global supply community and with the logistics community in the regions.
It has the responsibility to identify and manage projects that deliver added value to the business in terms of Cost, Performance, Quality, Service, Compliance and sustainability in relation to Transportation, Customs and Trade Compliance.
Furthermore, the Global Transport team is controlling the global freight budget and provides governance over the Control Tower Operations.
In Coty we are in the middle of a transformation process which provides very interesting opportunities for dynamic logistics professionals.
THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Road Transport Manager to join the COTY Global Transport and Customs & Trade Compliance Organization (GTC) reporting directly to the Director Global Transport Operations.
In this position you will be responsible for providing short- and long-term action plans and governance over the carriers, defining and supervising their performances and KPIs. You will be responsible to prevent and avoid reoccurrence of issues through monitoring of KPIs and governance of short-term action plan, execution of process standard and quick escalation. Operational execution is managed by an external control tower with which you need to keep close contact with and provide governance over in relation to road freight execution. Furthermore, you should be able to identify trends of his/hers KPIs, repetitive issues and through a rigorous root causing process, identify a proper action plan.
Another key responsibility is to identify long term strategies and action plans to provide governance over the whole process, identifying, standardizing and simplifying key processes and overseeing perfect execution. A leading role during RFQ processes is expected, supported by Logistics Procurement specialists.
Ultimately, he/she has to deliver cost, cash, service and sustainability objectives, being able to present results, action plan and strategies to senior management.
He/She will be working very closely with the Global Transport Centre of Excellence (COE) , Control Tower Management functions, customer service teams and externally very closely with our LSP's.
Key relationships in addition to the Global and Regional Transport Teams, will be with the IT community, DCs Transport Coordinators and Leaders as well as with Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing and Planning.
Key responsibilities:
Define target attributes necessary to build and maintain a best-in-class Road Carrier Management function supporting the Global Transport operations. Support the development and implementation of new logistics solutions/concepts, leading to enhanced transport operations on a global scale. Actively participate in logistical projects & supply chain management improvements from start to finish, like for instance for tenders or supply network redesign. Improve Vehicle Utilization rate for our Intercompany trucks, influencing stakeholder like planning, DC and customer services. Own/control the reporting in relation to road operations performance.
Ensure quality of tracking data as supplied by carriers is at the required standard as defined. Recommend improvements to boost performance and reduce costs. Improve road efficiencies by working with counterparts on optimization projects such as optimize truck fill rate, milk-run set ups, etc. Standardize and simplify critical workprocesses, tool and KPIs, aligned with ocean and air operations Monitor freight operational execution globally, providing best services for the company. Manage internal escalations and transport crises, providing solutions and prompt communications to the stakeholders. Monitor financial results to determine if they are in line with AOP for Road freight globally. Evaluate vendor operations according to defined KPI targets. Manage and analyze large amounts of data mainly coming from 4PL/internal reporting tools and utilize the information to act upon accordingly as needed to ensure smooth flow of Coty products. Coordinate RFQ processes, supported by Logistics Procurement Consolidate Transport Volume forecast information for Road lanes and secure required transport capacity will be provided by the carriers. Simulation of cost based on rates projections/forecasts as provided by LSP's. Communicate with LSP's, Factories, DC's and Planning teams and other relevant stakeholders in order to obtain all required information to secure a smooth flow of products. Organize and lead Monthly/Quarterly/Annually Business Reviews with LSP's
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Key requirements:
Required educational background: B.Sc. degree in Logistics - advanced degree an advantage. Minimal 10 Years of relevant working experience in (road) freight (preferable in Multinational company - preferable experience in Global forwarding company). Strong analytical and fact-based problem solving skills Result oriented person, capable to deliver under pressure and manage business autonomously including setting the right priorities Excellent skills in EXCEL / Power BI - VBA creation capabilities will be an advantage. Very good skills in Powerpoint In depth knowledge of key supply chain/logistics/transportation processes & current best practices. Strong team player - able to effectively and proactively act in a complex matrix organization Innovation skills Ability to visualize his/her thoughts in an adequate way (enabling her/him to bring message across to Senior Management audience - Executive reporting) Fluent in English, another language is a plus Excellent communication skills
