The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) team is responsible for creating marketplace demand and driving commerce for American Express through differentiated and innovative branding, marketing and experiences. We have an ambitious goal: to be the most creative department in the Fortune 500 and we aim to deliver on that by doing work that is both creative and effective.
Within GABM sits the Global Brand Content & Media team who is responsible for building inspiring brand creative and assets to drive consideration for target audiences, effective placement through strategic media planning and buying and leveraging cultural marketing and brand platforms to support enterprise priorities. We are looking for a data-driven and influential leader to lead our Global Brand Content Analytics . Reporting to the Director, Global Media Analytics, this NY-based role will oversee measurement and analytics related to our brand content and advertising. This role will partner with internal stakeholders and external agencies to advance our creative performance measurement framework, measurement partner selection / relationship management, goal setting, and end-to-end campaign reporting and optimization. The candidate should be effective at driving results through leadership and strong relationship-building, with demonstrated ability influencing across all stakeholder levels, a great collaborative mindset, and a passion for white space thinking. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in content and media analytics with experience spanning brand, measurement partner and/or agency side.
Responsibilities:
Maximize impact of brand campaigns (brand lift and ROI) by developing and overseeing content measurement strategy, measurement vendor management, and in-market campaign performance /optimizations
Deliver content analytics thought leadership and drive innovation as a “subject matter expert” in measurement
Turn disparate data in to a cohesive story, driving actionable learnings and insights (inclusive of data visualization), to influence and drive campaign optimizations
Deliver insights and analytics for the Global Media & Content team, connecting in-market performance across various global campaigns
Increase connectivity between core measurement/insights/analytics partners
Connect creative performance metrics with business data to uncover marketing’s impact on the brand and business
Lead and drive strategy behind key learning priorities, test and learn plans in alignment with cross-functional partners; consult with the team in development of campaign Learning Agendas and Campaign KPIs/diagnostics
Author and present best practices, POVs, and strategic planning guidelines to senior leadership and business unit partners while successfully influencing strategy
Management of agency partner teams ensuring the strategies and plans deliver against business objectives, create impact in the market and differentiate American Express in the marketplace
Incorporate an external perspective through competitive advertising/media analysis
Foster a sense of curiosity across our team, helping uncover the “what”, “why”, and “so what” across our enterprise marketing and performance
Own the measurement budget and ensure adherence to internal budget and compliance processes
The successful candidate will be able to work quickly, think on their feet, act entrepreneurially and collaborate effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
7 years work experience in brand content/advertising measurement. Level of role will be commensurate with experience
General curiosity to uncover insights and recommendations beyond just reporting the data
Quantitative and analytical acumen
Commitment to data quality
Understanding of basic statistical and sampling methodologies
Skilled in Microsoft Excel and data visualization in Microsoft Powerpoint
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Dependable and accountable
Work well under pressure, be a flexible, collaborative team player
Change agent & strategic problem solver: provide strategic thought leadership, with an ability to learn quickly, “connect the dots”, innovate, and drive results
Comfortable working in “white space” and willing to take on incremental responsibilities
Strong detail orientation with ability to think “end-to-end”
Excellent project management, organizational and process/workflow skills
Proficient in creating advanced level presentations for a broad range of audiences
Excellent relationship management skills - proven ability to build and strengthen relationships at all levels
Able to work and lead autonomously/efficiently and collaboratively, with ability to bring people along
Have a strong presence and be comfortable navigating and representing the organization in a professional and engaging manner
Have strong integrity and be able to handle projects of a sensitive and confidential nature
A belief in relationships as a way of doing business
Passion for entertainment and culture with an entrepreneurial drive to learn and make an impact at Amex
Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as executive presence
Bachelor’s degree required
Qualifications
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
