We're looking for an experienced analyst to support Salesforce's carbon footprinting and decarbonization strategies across the organization, helping the company achieve the ambitious 1.5°C-aligned goal of 50% emissions reduction by 2030. This position will report to the Director of Emissions Reduction and work closely with the entire Impact team and cross-functional business partners.

  Responsibilities

  Lead the company's carbon emissions forecasting process, coordinating with key stakeholders to integrate data sources and pressure-test assumptionsDesign and maintain sophisticated forecasting models to estimate future carbon emissions, incorporating various environmental, economic, business, policy, and research dataWork closely with different departments such as finance, procurement, infrastructure, real estate and business travel to gather relevant data and ensure alignment with the company's sustainability strategyPerform detailed scenario analysis to track emission trends, identify key drivers of carbon emissions, and to determine the most appropriate pathway to achieving 1.5°C-aligned emissions reductionTrack the latest developments in carbon accounting and forecasting methodologies to continually refine and improve forecasting accuracyClearly communicate the results of forecast updates to stakeholders, including executive leadershipProvide strategic insights to business leaders on emissions trends and advise on long-term environmental strategies and investmentsProvide data analysis needed to execute Salesforce's 100% renewable energy and net zero residual emissions goalsSupport the implementation of high-impact emissions reduction strategies throughout Salesforce's value chain and beyondUtilize Net Zero Cloud to analyze and forecast emissions data, providing feedback to product development teams on the feature roadmapUnderstand annual GHG Inventory process and support by providing quality assurance review of underlying dataDevelop thought leadership content to advance the industry on emissions forecasting and reductionParticipate in industry organizations and coalitions, as neededSupport other sustainability programs, as needed

  Preferred Qualifications

  8+ years of professional experience in environment, sustainability, energy, GHG accounting or related fieldStrong analytical and statistical skills, including quantitative modeling, forecasting and experience making sense of large amounts of dataProven experience maintaining complex data models and data management systemsKnowledge of the GHG Protocol and deep understanding of scope 1, 2, 3 calculation methodsKnowledge of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Net-Zero StandardComfortable working in industry that is many levels of separation away from direct control over carbon emissionsComfortable working in dynamic environments with shifting prioritiesAbility to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated passion for and knowledge of corporate ESG issuesTech savvy and comfortable working with and using new software toolsExcellent organizational skillsKeen attention to detail and data accuracyPositive team-oriented, hands-on, adaptive, and client-focused attitudeExcellent written and oral communication skillsExperience with third-party GHG verification and/or auditingDegree or equivalent proven experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

  For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $159,900 to $219,900.

  For Colorado-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $133,300 to $183,300.

  For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $146,600 to $201,500.

  For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $159,900 to $219,900.

  Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
