Salesforce is hiring a Senior Manager to join our Corporate Communications team supporting Tableau, the world's leading data and analytics platform. This person will help drive our Tableau and analytics story forward and further position Salesforce + Tableau as a leader in the data and analytics space to external audiences.
The ideal candidate has a passion for technology and creative storytelling, is a strong writer, enjoys working directly with media, and can partner with and leading partners across marketing, product, and other teams to drive external communications that educate key audiences on our technology, customers and business. This candidate will bring a strong mix of strategic and tactical communications experience, with an ability to build, own, and implement successful launches and programs. This person must be able to move fast and collaboratively on sophisticated issues, understand and translate technical concepts for media, and bring fresh thinking to modern storytelling across a diverse number of channels.
Responsibilities (what you'll be doing):
Drive media coverage that advances Salesforce's Tableau, data and analytics position in the market
Research, develop and edit content, including announcements, messaging, briefing docs, and more
Lead Tableau's presence and media strategies for major events, including Tableau Conference and Dreamforce
Forge deep relationships with media and lead inbound requests on a range of issues
Identify compelling stories beyond our big product moments and telling them across Salesforce channels as well as landing earned media around them
Find new ways to articulate our stories beyond traditional media relations - including video, owned channels, paid media and social
Consult and build relationships with all levels of partners and global comms team members, including marketing, customer marketing, product, analyst, and other teams
Build and lead an extensive bench of diverse spokespeople
Anticipate comms risks and establish risk mitigation strategies
Maintain centralized repositories for team communication materials, playbooks and templates
Required skills/experience (what you've accomplished):
8+ years of professional PR and media relations experience (PR agency experience is a plus)
BA/BS in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or similar field preferred
Excellent writing and critical thinking skills
A creative thinker with a strong mix of strategic and tactical comms ownership and execution
Self-starter, with an ability to move fast and collaboratively on sophisticated issues
Enjoys working with media regularly
Success in building relationships and collaborating with press, executives, partners and other partners
Thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is able to multi-task, prioritize projects and communicate priorities to business partners
Self-starter who is comfortable leading their work autonomously
Background in technology communications and knowledge of data and analytics

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $159,900 to $219,900.
For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $159,900 to $219,900.
Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
