Amazon Public Policy is seeking a Senior Manager, Community Engagement to join our team in San Francisco, California.
The Senior Manager, Community Engagement will be responsible for managing and executing a community engagement program in San Francisco in support of the communities where we work. The candidate will serve as a key member of Amazon’s Public Policy and Community Engagement teams, supporting and driving engagement with local community stakeholders, businesses, non-profits organizations, neighborhood groups, educational institutions, civic and trade associations, and other stakeholders. The Senior Manager, Community Engagement will deliver community engagement results through events, projects, initiatives, and panels.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a visible, involved, and well-connected presence in the community, meeting people where they are in ways that are meaningful to our neighbors, employees, and customers. The candidate must have a proven track record of defining and moving business and community initiatives from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will have an insistence on high standards and strong attention to detail. The candidate will be expected to, at times, operate in areas of ambiguity where they will be responsible for defining strategic engagement and delivering results. Finally, they must also be able to effectively measure success using traditional and non-traditional metrics. Domestic travel is required.
This position will report to the Head of California Public Policy and be based in San Francisco, CA.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
At least 10 years of relevant experience in public policy, government relations, community relations, public affairs, corporate social responsibility, or equivalent experience.
An ability and desire to travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Juris Doctorate, Master’s Degree, or other Advanced Degree.
Experience developing and executing external affairs, community relations, and/or corporate social responsibility strategies in a corporate environment.
Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest corporate, political, and community levels for a diverse variety of audiences.
Ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others. Must be flexible and demonstrate strong judgment/decision-making skills and political acumen.
Demonstrated ability to manage high-profile relationships with community partners and civic leaders.
Ability to maintain the highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $131,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $245,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
