This role is responsible for ideation, evaluation, design, communication, and implementation of benefit programs to eligible active, COBRA, and retiree team members. Benefits include health and wellness, spending accounts, income protection, and added benefits globally.
What you'll do
Serve as the subject-matter-expert on benefit plans advising leadership on the current state of benefits and proposed program enhancements, supporting labor relations during union negotiations, and working with internal and external partners ensuring successful project implementation outcomes
Oversee the design and delivery of self-funded or fully insured benefit plans through medical carriers, pharmacy benefit manager, wellness providers, administrative-service-only providers, life & disability insurance carriers, care management partners, navigator, and benefits brokers and consultants
Work with internal and external stakeholders to support the execution of business needs, complex high-risk corporate projects, and other ad hoc projects demonstrating a bias for action to deliver desired outcomes and ultimately drive a competitive advantage
Design, implement, and maintain a communication platform to increase team member engagement and understanding of benefit programs throughout the year including annual enrollment
Manage RFP planning, negotiations, and contracting in partnership with Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Benefits consultants. Develop performance metrics, service level agreements, and quality controls for programs
Drive vendor/supplier accountability using monthly, quarterly, yearly, and ad hoc reporting. Improve vendor performance by addressing delivery/performance issues
Manage a team of benefits professionals to deliver results through effective collaboration
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training
7 years of Benefits experience in a highly unionized environment
Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience
Proven experience in vendor management/negotiation to the requirements
Experience with program implementations
Advanced knowledge of benefits delivery and regulations
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Driven to achieve excellence, high standards of quality for self and others, strong goal orientation
Ability to be proactive and able to work with limited direction to prioritize tasks under narrow time limitations, and appropriately communicate changes and progress
Team player effective in a fast-paced environment
