Job Description The Europe Acceptance Business Development team builds partnerships and business plans to increase Visa payment volume in segments that are underpenetrated in card acceptance. The team also champions acceptance products and services with the markets to support the evolution and development of Visa acceptance network. This team sits within the Europe Merchant Sales & Acquiring (MS&A) team.
Within this team, the Senior Manager, B2B and Bill Pay Acceptance Business Development will be the subject matter expert in driving acceptance of Visa commercial cards in business-to-business (B2B) sectors and in bill payments. The team’s focus within B2B acceptance is to identify sector-specific needs, assess opportunities and right-fit solutions, and quickly act upon our vision of growing corporate supplier card acceptance while ensuring strong execution. This role specifically is responsible for owning specific B2B verticals on the acceptance side, including development of corporate merchant and partner relationships. This role will also cover bill payments and manage bill payment service provider accounts. It is critical to understand the corporate payments market and client sector needs and develop a client centric sales strategy to deliver new sales and grow revenue.
Key responsibilities
Partner with Visa Commercial Solutions to define target B2B verticals (such as logistics and freight) and develop Visa’s approach to B2B acceptance. Act as the vertical leader for identified verticals and sign commercial agreements to expand B2B commercial volume through Visa card acceptanceExpand Visa’s bill payment service provider model to drive acceptance for more bill payment types and marketsExecute on acceptance deals with merchants, suppliers, and partners to position Visa as a preferred method for commercial payments, and drive implementation of Visa solutions working in collaboration with product colleagues including Cybersource, Tink, and other acquired businessesManage merchants, suppliers, and partners with a consultative and strategic approach to uncover a full understanding of their card acceptance processes and challengesLiaise with cross-functional colleagues, including finance, to develop business cases to drive client activation and secure senior Visa stakeholder endorsementSupport cross-functional due diligence efforts with prospective partners, including financial, product, technical and systems assessmentCommunicate to internal and external executives to summarize deal terms and strategic fit
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications • Experienced, results oriented leader with a proven track record in managing clients/accounts, developing relationships and sales partnerships across large businesses
• Experience and expertise in commercial payments with B2B merchants
• Strong business, commercial, and financial acumen and political smart and savvy to build credibility, lead and guide key client and internal stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving experience with a challenger mindset
• Ability to structure, manage, and coordinate complex cross-enterprise, goal oriented, objectives with multiple stakeholders
• Exceptional communication skills (written, oral, and presentation)
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across functions and geographies in a complex matrix environment
• Willingness to travel 25% of the time
