Senior Manager - Accounting, Controllership JD
The Senior Manager will be one of key accounting leaders in the APAC DTC and Network Controllership Team and should plan, direct and coordinate Controllership, Accounting Functions, as well as any relevant operational accounting requirements based on local statutory requirements of multiple legal entities of Warner Bros. Discovery Networks and DTC Businesses of countries India, Mauritius and Australia. The role will be based in Hyderabad, India and will report directly to the Accounting Director based in Singapore.
This Senior Manager will be responsible for Controllership Accounting function of multiple legal entities based in India, Mauritius, and Australia, as well as lead annual Ind AS, IGAAP and monthly US GAAP book closing, lead and ensure timely audit closure (standalone and consolidated) in compliance with IFRS, Ind AS, IGAAP (India and Mauritius based legal entities) The Senior Manager will work closely with the other functions of the controllership (like RTR, Revenue etc.) as well as with the day to day transaction processing teams (Accounts payable and Accounts receivable) to ensure completeness and accuracy of overall financial numbers in line with local statutory requirements. Providing guidance to RTR team in completing the monthly and quarterly variance explanations and preparing internal and external reporting schedules. The Senior Manager will be responsible for managing Internal audit and ICFR testing by an external firm, ensure all deliverables are completed timely for respective legal entities, and will sign off on necessary control requirements. The ideal candidate should have strong practical and theoretical knowledge of Ind AS, IGAAP, Indian taxes and preferably IFRS, US GAAP, companies Act and should also have an excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills and a high level of professionalism and accountability to communicate financial information to Finance and Operational partners at all levels throughout the company. Senior Manager will be a partner to multiple stakeholders, internal and external. The ideal candidate should have flexibility to work in shift timings (if required), an additional effort may be required to ensure overlap of time zones.
Your Role Accountabilities...
This position is responsible for managing/supervising the Accounting Function for India, Mauritius, and AustraliaLead Annual Ind AS, IGAAP and monthly GAAP book closing.Lead and ensure timely audit closure (standalone and consolidated) in compliance with IFRS, Ind AS, IGAAP (India and Mauritius based legal entities)Reviewing monthly expense, accruals, and prepayment entriesManaging accounting of non-consolidated legal entity including expense, accruals, and content amortization/ asset managementResponsible for Balance sheet flux, Sox controls and reportingAssisting in improving existing Internal controls and procedures to be in line with Corporate Accounting PoliciesAssisting debtors provisioning as per company policy under Ind AS, IGAAPPreparing and submitting journals as a part of local statutory reporting (Ind AS, IGAAP)Support in providing requisite details during direct and indirect Tax Assessments/Audit/ Secretarial filing.Handle queries from various stakeholders in the organizationAccurately handling reporting requests/questions received from various stakeholders.Providing guidance in Fixed asset management, prepaid accounting, expense accruals and monthly/ quarterly intercompany transactionsResponsible for reviewing monthly expense accrual computation file and quarterly tax provisioning working (US GAAP)Review of monthly, quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and taking quick appropriate actionResponsible for IC unbilled reconciliations and Related party schedule as a part of local statutory reporting (Ind AS, IGAAP)Responsible for working with tax team for intercompany transactions and handling Transfer Pricing segmental.Responsible for local bank compliance support in alignment with Treasury team, managing local banking relationship and FEMA compliance.Assist in various global projects like accounting software migration to SAP S4 HANA, Concur and handling issues.Responsible for working with Tax team for Tax Return and FBT Return for legal entities based in Australia.Responsible for managing Internal Audit which includes audit plan preparation, alignment with auditor as well as with internal stakeholders, engagement of Internal Auditor firm, co-ordination with stakeholders, finalization of management comments and discussion with external auditors on internal audit observations.
Qualifications & Experience...
Chartered Accountant in accounting/finance and at least 12+ years of post-qualification accounting experience in international environmentMust have strong practical and theoretical knowledge of Ind AS, IGAAP, Indian taxes and preferably IFRS, US GAAP, companies Act.Very good written and spoken English is a mustProficient and experienced in MS Office applications, command over excel in particular is a mustExperience with enterprise information systems (SAP, PS)High Integrity team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work well with others and promote positive working relationships across the organizationMotivated by challenging, high-energy, flexible environment. Ability to work under conditions of pressure and adjust to urgent and changing situationsThe ability to plan and prioritize workloads in order to meet deadlines is fundamental so too is effective time management of work flow in order to meet accounting deadlines
