Job Description
The Senior Lease Accountant-Fixed Assets is responsible for performing a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions including adjustments, variance analysis and journal entries creations, all supported with requisite documentation.
Job Responsibilities
? Work to improve on collection of contracts that may affect lease accounting.
? Evaluate contracts to ensure leases have been appropriately identified and classified.
? Review updates made to the lease system for new lease contracts, amendments to existing contracts and contract terminations.
? Review journal entries to be recorded as part of the month end close.
? Analyze and review general ledger account reconciliations as part of the month end close.
? Verify rent expense is being classified and recorded to the correct accounts in the general ledger to support internal and external reporting.
? Drive review and analysis of the relevant financial information and ensure appropriate communication to the regions and business partners is provided as needed.
? Assist with the integration of the lease system into the general ledger system.
? Respond to inquiries and ad hoc analysis.
? Develop and drive process improvements.
? Provide support for special projects, ad hoc requests and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
? Bachelor?s degree in business, finance, or accounting is required.
? Four to six years of accounting experience is required.
? Experience with contract reviews preferred.
? Basic understanding of the new lease accounting standard (ASC 842).
? Strong understanding and ability to reconcile balance sheet accounts.required
? Ability to work within multiple systems and see opportunities for improvements.
? Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
? Ability to use Excel at a high level, including v-lookups and pivots required.
? Strong analytical skills.
? Strong oral and written communication skills.
? Strong team player and self-driven individual.
