About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Data Science Consultant within the CAR - Advanced Analytics Team. The CAR Team is responsible for delivery of quality products to stakeholders that are viewed as valued added, delivered on time and in ways the stakeholders can use, and repeatable, reproducible, and sustainable over time, as appropriate. Be trusted partners by leveraging information derived from multiple inputs to inform the business of recurring topics and changing trends that facilitate root cause analysis and strategic action. Provide high quality data and reports and ready access to reports and insights. Risk Management - Demonstrate effective challenge and documentation of model and data quality. Document and challenge metrics, procedures, and controls.
In this role, you will:Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop or influence objectives, plans, specifications, resources, and long-term goals for highly complex business and technical needs that can be resolved through utilizing data-driven advanced analytical, statistical techniques, algorithms, or models.Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth hypothesis generation and advanced analytics across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, and advanced inductive thinking, and coordination of highly complex activities and guidance to others.Provide vision, direction, and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions generated from data driven insights that are large-scale, cross-functional, or companywide strategies.Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the company and serve as an expert advisor to leadership to drive recommendations and strategies based on data driven, analytical insights, trends, and patterns.Execute highly complex analytical experiments and create innovative statistical models to discover solutions for abstract business problems across various domains.Interpret and analyze data, using advanced analytics modeling methods and programming, to recommend ways to solve problems and influence business decisions and strategies.Provide consultation on data science best practices, methods, and tools to leverage.Communicate actionable insights and recommendations using data in a digestible format to a non-technical audience of varying levels, including leadership, across the company.Required Qualifications, US:7+ years of data science experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science.Desired Qualifications:Experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, and Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) & Large Language Model (LLM) experience.Model Development and Model Validation experience. Leads or assists on end-to-end model build efforts from discovery to deployment.Works directly with AI COE on model co-development.Communicates project progress and obstacles.Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience.Performs pre-/post-model testing, including explain-ability, robustness, fairness testing, etc.Shepherds model from discover to deployment including post-validation activities.Documents model development in MDD.Conducts ongoing monitoring and reviews.Job Expectations:Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
