Senior Information Tech Manager

About the Role:
Senior Information Tech Manager will be responsible for scientific data management and business process engineering for the eLibrary Technology group within the Novartis Knowledge Centre (NKC). This group is passionate about the delivery of the technical infrastructure of library services as well as the technology delivery skills required to effectively disseminate content from the NKC across all divisions for Novartis. The role requires global strategic decision making related to the ongoing creation, development, improvement and execution of an information & knowledge management strategy to support services in the Novartis Knowledge Center organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• In the role, you will contribute to initiatives that transform data through automated systems that synthesize scientific, medical and business information for all phases of drug discovery at Novartis. You will be responsible for requirements management and solution design specifically related to the semantic search and knowledge graph technology that contribute to enterprise-wide solutions.
• Develop innovative solutions to bring in the pipeline data and enrich it using NKC dictionaries.
• Integrate scientific, medical, technical and business news data to build a data lake to feed into various services.
• Find opportunities about the latest developments in the knowledge graphs and semantic search field to apply new methods using LLMs to enrich NKC services.
• Responsible for collaborating with other data and digital initiatives within Novartis to identify where NKC services can be coordinated.
• Develop innovative solutions harnessing externally licensed content into technical platforms.
• Awareness of major information technology providers in the field of scientific data management.
• Work closely with peers in NKC, Global Business Solutions, IT, and senior stakeholder business partners to identify and determine key data source, tools and service provider (if needed) for successful implementation of the key initiatives.
• Communicate the NKC Elibrary Technology strategy to stakeholders concisely and effectively to non-technical audiences and build alignment with business leaders to drive major global strategic decisions in the use of NKC services.

Role Requirements
Essential Requirements
• Master's Degree in Information Technology and/or Masters of Library Science or related technical field or relevant years of experience in the information technology and/or knowledge management field.
• 12+ years of proven experience of delivering enterprise level solutions in relevant pharma or life science industry. 5 + years of proven experience as a senior manager in an information management organization with a strong focus on enabling data driven decision-making. 5-7 years engaging with multiple collaborators within global organization. Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in C#, Angular, ASP.NET MVC4, Web APIs.
• Proven 7 + years of demonstrated ability in processing common forms of data: JSON, XML, RSS.
• Hands on experience working with semantic search.
Desirable Requirements:
• Extensive experience of working in sophisticated global matrix based organization.
• Experienced in analyzing large volumes of data to drive analysis for decision making purpose.
