Job Summary
A Senior Information Developer leads information experiences through curating documentation, multimedia, and scalable processes for maintaining shared knowledge. They are the information experience lead for an entire program, collaborating with subject matter experts and across Dolby offices worldwide and leveraging knowledge tools to identify essential content that needs to be written, extracted, or generated and subsequently delivered to our customers so that they can implement Dolby technologies successfully. Being comfortable in code and revision control systems, they work alongside engineers to create, revise, edit, and design various types of technical information.
A Senior Information Developer's job function includes independent ownership of technical information for several large and complex projects. With the advent of generative AI, combined with the application of UX research and data, information development if evolving significantly. We are looking for a Senior Information Developer who is excited to join us on this journey.
Key ResponsibilitiesDistill information from multiple sources to product concise, accurate, and relevant documentation within the agreed timelines, tailored to the user personas.Collaborate with stakeholders in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product Management, UX, and support to build a cohesive narrative for technical information, that takes into consideration the user persona and applies available data.Align on project priorities and negotiate timelines based on objectives, project requirements, and ongoing tasks.Understand and use generative AI and augment technical information for customer deliverables.Apply tools to improve information contributed by subject matter experts in the broader organization.Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes for generating and delivering optimized information to users.Mentors and assists team members through knowledge sharing and training.Stays up to date with industry trends and continues to experiment with emerging technologies.Preferred qualificationsWriting is one of your key strengths. Excellent command of the English language with 4+ years' experience documenting software or audio/video processing and distribution technologies.Demonstrate broad capabilities across writing, extracting, curating, and refining technical information for customers and end-users.Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Mass Communication, Information Design, or a related field.Fluency with technical writing formats, such as docs-as-code methodology, DITA, XML, and Markdown.An understanding of UX research, application of user data/analytics, personalized instructional information, and emerging technologies, such as generative AI.Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Working knowledge of SCRUM/Agile methodologies.Ability to work independently and lead information initiatives.Effectively communicates and collaborates with global team members.Open to experiment with new technologies and continuously build new skills.Commitment to providing mentorship and knowledge sharing across the team.Proficiency using tools, including Content Management Systems, Oxygen XML Editor, Git, Jira, Confluence, and MS office suite.#LI-SW1
The Atlanta Area base salary range for this full-time position is $104,900 - $126,200 which can vary if outside this location,plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
