Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.
Responsibilities
• IMDS Data Management:
o Maintain and update IMDS databases with accurate and up-to-date material data for all sensor components.
o Ensure compliance with IMDS regulations and standards, such as REACH, RoHS, ELV, and other environmental directives.
• Data Submission:
o Initiate, upon engineering teams requests, IMDS certification process, by extracting requested data from PDMLink database using the part number to be certified.
o Check IMDS certifications already available and fill IMDS database accordingly.
o Collaborate with suppliers to gather relevant material information and compliance documentation for components not yet certified.
• Regulatory Compliance:
o Stay up-to-date with evolving environmental regulations and standards related to sensor products.
o Interpret and communicate regulatory requirements to relevant stakeholders within the organization.
• Suppliers Coordination:
o Liaise with component suppliers to obtain IMDS certifications for each individual component used in sensor manufacturing.
o Ensure that suppliers provide accurate and up-to-date IMDS data for their respective components.
• Customers Collaboration:
o Submit IMDS declaration to customer based on customers IDs supplied by engineering teams.
o Work closely with engineering teams and customers in the event of IMDS certification rejections.
o Address customer concerns and collaborate on remediation efforts to meet compliance requirements.
• KPI Generation:
o Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress in IMDS certification and compliance efforts.
o Analyze KPI data to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous enhancement of IMDS processes.
• Continuous Improvement:
o Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements in IMDS data management.
o Develop and implement best practices to streamline the IMDS certification process.
What your background should look like
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in IMDS data management and certification processes.
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and standards, including REACH, RoHS, ELV, and other related directives.
Excellent project management and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, external suppliers, and stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to data accuracy and compliance.
Experience with IMDS reporting tools and software is a plus.
Certification in relevant environmental and regulatory standards is a bonus.
Fluency in English.
