Senior HRBP

Hybrid work model of 2-3 days in office per week in Sunnyvale, CA

  The mission of the Illumio HR function is to make the company attractive to join, an engaging place to work and a hard company to leave.

  This is a position that will be defined by impact. As a business driven HRBP, you will focus on helping build a strong, scalable business that delivers on our mission to stop cyber-attacks from spreading and turning into ransomware events. This is a role where you will partner closely with the C-suite in implementing strategies that advance the business through its people. Illumio is in a period of hyper-growth which means the person who takes on this role must be "all in" on driving the business forward. HR at Illumio is a function driven by delivering value to the business beyond the HR basics and the successful candidate will be one that is excited to drive, coach, mentor and partner with our business leaders as we scale towards IPO and beyond.

  You will be joining an Illumio Human Resources Team that is composed of motivated, business savvy, strategic HR professionals who build employee centric programs that strengthen our business and company culture. There are numerous opportunities to drive impact within this expanding team as we develop innovative approaches to increasing our talent pipelines, improving leadership development and coaching resources, operationalizing how we reward top performance, live out our values, streamline employee communications, imbed diversity, equity and inclusion, and much more.

About the Team:

The Illumio People Team is made up of motivated, experienced, and talented team members who come together to build programs centered on our employees while strengthening our exceptional company culture. Key Responsibilities:

Build trusted business partnerships at all levels and in all geographies of the organization

  Develop a deep understanding of your client groups so that you are able to diagnose underlying issues, understand and anticipate the need for change, build a framework and plan for continuous process improvements, and help to design an organization for success

  Work directly with members of the executive team, managers, and Illumineers on company-wide and team-specific talent strategies  

  Strategically partner with executives, providing guidance, feedback, and quality data to guide decision making 

  Provide coaching and creative solutions to guide change and organizational design efforts 

  Partner with the HR centers of excellence to evolve all phases of people management including talent acquisition, feedback, total rewards, L&D, and embedding support for diversity and inclusion at every decision point  

  Influence Illumio leaders around the world to create a culture of collaboration, execution & accountability

  Lead global HR transformation projects and initiatives to develop talent, enhance employee experience, build critical capabilities and strengthen organization culture and engagement as we grow Illumio

  Draw meaningful insights that will inform talent decisions at multiple levels

  Drive the talent assessment program using various techniques to raise the effectiveness of our teams

  Roll out corporate initiatives to global client groups

  Work closely with our people experts (comp, people operations, and recruiting) in a cross-functional capacity with all teams in the organization 

  

Experience:

Bachelor's degree 

  Minimum 7+ years of experience in a Senior Business Partner, People Operations, Generalist, or similar role where you were supporting a global team.

  Demonstrated business acumen and the desire to build a scalable, resilient company

  A strong spirit of team building and a desire to impact the organization at the global level

  Intellectual curiosity that enables you to learn technology, products, and people quickly 

  Tenacity to push through the common challenges of scaling a late-stage startup.  

  Skill in seeing all sides of an issue, remaining objective, and moving to resolution 

  Ability to succinctly and persuasively make points up, down, and across all levels  

  Orientation to seeing through ambiguity and reaching for data to guide decisions and solutions  

  Knowledge to develop and deliver programs and interventions that ensure Illumio is and remains a great place to work 

  Credibility as an expert HRBP and trusted HR Lead to provide guidance to others in this capacity on a global basis

  An approach rooted in your high integrity and trustworthy character that embraces inclusive communication and ethical practices

  Leadership and the ability to influence without authority and inspire those around you 

  Exceptional listening skills with the ability to understand and diagnose complex business issues

  Sound judgment and ability to lead through challenges and changes

  High energy with a bias to action and a drive to complete objectives

  Aspiration for excellence in your area of impact

  Creative thinking that generates innovative solutions

  Savvy with systems and numbers to enable the use of business analytics to identify focus areas

  Demonstrated ability to collaborate and incorporate multiple perspectives into a combined solution

  Exposure and understanding of all areas of HR – Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, Employee Relations, Labor Laws on a Global basis

  Ability to relate to, influence, and coach employees of all levels in the organization 

  Experience working with mid-size and start-ups companies

  Pay Range:

  $150,000 USD - $180,000 USD

  The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, or applicable laws.
