Your New Role:
Our Enterprise Data & Shared Services team is seeking for a highly capable database administrator to support and maintain the daily activity of the database team related to different types of databases specially for SAP HANA. You will be administering and implementing standardized database management procedures for databases. To ensure success as a database administrator, you should possess extensive knowledge of database administration and experience in a similar role.
You will be working with a team of professionals to design and implement the best database practices for databases, provide guidance to database team on database structures and features. You will create standard procedures to enhance scalability and performance of existing database architecture. Troubleshoot complex database issues in accurate and timely manner. Develop best practices for performance and operational efficiency.

Your Role Accountabilities:
• Primarily responsible for administrating SAP HANA databases along with other types of databases like Postgres, MySQL.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and manage databases.
• Implement and enforce database security.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing and execution.
• Apply patching and upgrade databases as per requirements.
• Identify and resolve performance related queries.
• Implement security, roles, users, and privileges using the best practices.
• Provide database/objects recovery as need on basis.
• Design, identify and implement high performing and highly available data warehouse solutions.
• Proactively identify, design, and implement process improvements like automating manual processes, optimizing data flow etc.
• Provide support for all staged of database implementation and/or database related deployments.
• Stay up to date with the latest features and best practices.
• Follow existing database runbooks, create, and maintain new runbooks for new and improved processes
• Provide 24X7 On-call support by participating in rotation schedule.
Qualifications & Experiences:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or information technology.
• 10+ years of experience as a database administrator.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on administration experience, from setting up the SAP HANA databases.
• Experience with the various database platforms like DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL will be helpful as well.
• Experience automating, scripting, and streamlining processes for efficiency and accuracy utilizing Unix shell scripting, Windows BAT, Python etc.
• Experience with different monitoring tools like DBI, DataDog etc.
• Some experience with AWS with knowledge of S3, EC2, IAM, Security, Lambda, Networking etc.
• Ability and experience with the development of processes and procedures to standardize Database installations and configuration.
• Extensive experience with implementation and maintenance of Disaster Recovery and High availability.
• Ability to work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions that are highly innovative and ingenious.
• Ability to provide technical documentation and project plans for technical staff members.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to provide 24/7 support.
