Committed to technical excellence and high-qualityservice, we provide integrated geotechnical engineering, engineeringgeology, environmental and natural resource services for clients worldwide.Since 1954, we have delivered comprehensive engineering and environmentalsolutions for the most challenging infrastructure planning, design,permitting and construction conditions.We are dedicated to improving our communities, preserving the environmentand utilizing the most innovative science practices in all our work.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform geologic evaluations in support of geology, earthquake hazard,engineering geology, and geotechnical engineering studies.Design, plan, and perform field exploration, testing, andinstrumentation programs.Perform geologic reconnaissance and mapping.Perform observation and testing during construction.Perform soil and rock slope stability analyses.Interpret soil samples geologically and construct geologic profilesAssist with proposal and report preparation.Interact and communicate with subcontractors, clients, and staff at alllevels.Lead, mentor, oversee, and/or supervise engineers and other employees.Review technical and other reports, and calculations done by lower-levelemployeesSupport business development and marketing activities, including preparationof cost proposals and presentations to existing and prospective clients.Follow Shannon & Wilsons Quality Assurance policy.Follow and promote Shannon & Wilsons Health & Safety and Loss Preventionpolicies and procedures.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Qualifications
QualificationsBS Degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering specialty)MS or PhD Degree in Geotechnical Engineering (or GeologicalEngineering), supported by a BS Degree in Engineering or Geology.14+ years of experience as a Geotechnical Engineer.Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state office is located.Mentoring and supervisory experience.Level PlacementTypically, depending on an applicant's education, experience, otherqualifications they possess, if they are a fit for the company and localoffice culture, and the current business needs, a Senior-LevelGeotechnical Engineer typically would be placed at a Shannon & WilsonAssociate or Senior Associate level.Shannon & Wilson offers a competitive benefits package to support ouremployees. Thepay range for this position depends on skills, education, and experience.
