About Senior Frontend Engineer - ML

  Description

  Are you intrigued or passionate about Machine Learning (ML) & ready to build a new customer-centric product? The Amazon SageMaker Canvas team is looking for talented front-end engineers to help us build the next generation of Low Code/No Code ML tools.

  With SageMaker, developers and data scientists have the ability to build, train, and deploy machine learning models quickly. As a fully-managed cloud service, SageMaker covers the entire data science workflow from data preparation and exploratory data analysis to model building and inference; our charter is to make data science and machine learning understandable, affordable, scalable, and accessible to everyone. The foundation of the SageMaker user experience is the industry standard, open-source Jupyter Notebook.

  As a senior front-end engineer on the Sagemaker Canvas team, you'll be responsible for driving key deliverables across teams building out interactive and responsive user experiences in Sagemaker Canvas. Our goal is to democratize Machine Learning by bringing it to non-ML savvy persona, who can build ML models to solve complex problems with ease. You will be empowered to achieve this goal by leading engineers to build reliable, scalable, distributed and high performance products. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define product features, drive the system architecture and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.

  Key job responsibilities

  Work closely with UX designers and product managers to develop friendly UI experiences.

  Work closely with other engineers to architect and develop the best technical design.

  Develop/maintain operational rigor for the frontend of a fast-growing AWS service.

  Own and deliver key features within a new interactive ML application

  Help develop the engineers of an existing “two pizza” scrum team.

  Collaborate with other SageMaker SDEs for features that cut across SageMaker.

  Engage with customers and other AWS partners.

  Help with hiring.

  You'll be well supported with by a group with deep technical chops, including multiple senior and principal engineers and scientists.

  Basic Qualifications

  5+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience

  5+ years of front-end developer creating prototypes or wire-frames for enterprise web applications or workflows experience

  Experience developing with MVC/MVM frameworks (e.g. React.JS, AngularJS, Vue)

  Preferred Qualifications

  Knowledge of web services technologies such as SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, XSD, and REST

  Experience in a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns.

  Experience with AI/ML technologies

  Experience collaborating with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders

  Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
