Summary of Role:
As a TGMS Technician you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Toxic Gas Monitoring System Equipment. Technician positions are hourly shift positions primarily working a compressed week of 12-hour shifts. GlobalFoundries is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts.
Essential Responsibilities:
The operations and maintenance of site-wide Toxic Gas Monitoring System.
Supporting the maintenance and continuous updates of the Toxic Gas Monitoring System Matrix.
Participating in EHS regulatory reviews and program implementations.
Participates in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures surrounding this Toxic Gas Monitoring System.
Perform informal technical support and on the job training on specific tasks to train new team members and resident contractors on the Toxic Gas Monitoring System when applicable.
Ensure the site Toxic Gas Monitoring System at GlobalFoundries is in compliances with all state and federal laws and regulations.
Documentation of site Toxic Gas alarm and response procedures.
Perform tasks associated with EHS compliance as necessary including, but not limited to regulatory review, training (delivery and presentation), and audits.
Ability to follow procedures and ensure the operation of the sites Toxic Gas Monitoring System
Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Other Responsibilities:
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.Required Qualifications:
Education – requirements include any one of the options listed below.
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of experience with installation and maintenance of a toxic gas monitoring system, Instrumentation and Controls based systems, or other systems of similar complexity.
General knowledge and work experience with OSHA, EPA, NFPA and NYS regulations surrounding life safety systems.
Mechanical aptitude to perform field service and troubleshooting
Ability to operate SCADA system and programs to ensure the operation of the Toxic Gas Monitoring System
Ability to work standing up, on a ladder and in confined spaces for long durations
Willingness and ability to work perform shift work, including nights and weekends
Willingness to work independently and with a highly motivated team on related projects or assignments.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities.
Skills -
Ability to read and understand P&IDs, schematics, manuals, and operations specifications
Able to work in a cleanroom environment per semi-conductor protocol/requirements
Demonstrated ability to operate computer programs including Microsoft Office
Ability to perform work in a standing position for majority of a 12 hour shift (excluding breaks)
Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation.
Demonstrated work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities
Strong team player with ability to work well across multiple disciplines
Demonstrated mechanical abilities with experience in maintenance and operation of equipment
Domestic travel may be required (very limited)
Strong Safety minded attitude.

Fluency in English Language – English (Written & Verbal)
Physical Capacity Demands –
Able to lift, pull, and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift
Able to perform activities that include climbing many flights of stairs, climbing vertical ladders, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and crawling, and working at heights
Able to wear required PPE and take required job specific safety trainings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two year technical associates degree in Science, Math, and Engineering, Semi-conductor Manufacturing or a related discipline/equivalent military training/experience.
Experience with Honeywell Analytics Toxic Gas Detection Systems and related software.
Experience with RKI Gas Detection Systems and other single point of use detection systems.
Basic electrical and alarm monitoring systems experience.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance software (i.e. SAP) and automated control systems (i.e. FMCS)
Familiarity with Lean processes and activities
Experience with Cimplicity HMI
Control system networks including Ethernet, Modbus, and ControlNet
Minimum of 5 years direct experience working in semi-conductor manufacturing or in semi-conductor tool/equipment/facilities maintenance.
Able to wear upgraded PPE in accordance with Emergency Response Protocols and OSHA standards as a participating member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and become ERT/First Aid/CPR qualified.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong planning & organizational skills.
Expected Salary Range
$42,400.00 - $76,300.00
