Position:Senior Enterprise Messaging Engineer
Job Description:
SUMMARY
As a Senior Messaging Engineer you will perform installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, and support for all email and messaging products, such as Microsoft Exchange, Cisco ESA appliances, Microsoft 365 products such as Exchange Online and Teams.
LOCATION
Hybrid work from either of the below office locations is required with flexibility to have Mondays and Fridays remote:
Preferred Location: Jacksonville, FL
Secondary Location: Atlanta, GA
Relocation assistance available.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Defines the business requirements for the organization's email and messaging solutions, which involves working with end-users to develop specifications
Performs installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, and support of email and messaging products, such as Microsoft Exchange, Cisco ESA appliances, Microsoft 365 products such as Exchange online and Teams
Evaluates and recommends associated hardware, software and cloud solutions based on the business requirements and user needs
Ensures optimum access to 24x7 email and messaging environment and integration among email and messaging systems
Provides technical leadership in the design, development, and promotion of selected email and messaging strategies
Works closely with support staff to solve system problems
Provides technical support on email/messaging related issues
Prepares documentation that will assist in the administration and maintenance of the email and messaging environment
Serves as a lead or point of escalation to Messaging Team
May serve as an internal consultant to developers, assisting them in the area of WANs, LANs, and telecommunications concepts as they relate to the email and messaging systems
May be required to be available for after-hours support of email and messaging systems
May provide email and messaging solutions for clients
Performs other related duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
Requires 10+ years of experience with email/messaging/groupware technologies, tools, and hardware/software platforms
Experience working with Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365 products (i.e. Exchange Online, Teams)
Demonstrated experience with messaging automation and scripting using PowerShell
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Cisco ESA/IronPort appliances in both cloud and on-prem environments
Demonstrated understanding of DMARC, DKIM, and SPF
Knowledge and skill in MS Windows operating system and MS Exchange in clustered server environments
Skill and experience migrating a large corporation from one messaging system to another, GSuite to Exchange online, tenant to tenant, on Prem to cloud
Knowledge and skill in SMTP mail routing, DNS, and Active Directory
Experience with Amazon SES
Knowledge of basic networking methodologies and techniques
Skill and experience in configuration and administration of Microsoft Teams and mobile device management
Knowledge and experience with 3rd party CRM tools such as HubSpot and SendGrid
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization
Willingly shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise with other resources
Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, prioritizing, multi-tasking, team, and time management skills
Requires a high degree of human and customer relations skills
Ability to work with vendor personnel to resolve problems and issues on behalf of the client or the company
