About the Role
Production Engineering holds a high bar for reliability, efficiency and resilience across Ubers Tech platforms, ensuring production systems maintain the highest levels of availability. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic leader to join the team and further advance Uber's production platforms. You will be responsible for managing and developing our Production Engineering team, overseeing our platform and ensuring that our processes are running smoothly.
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong technical background and experience leading Production Engineering/SRE teams in a large, complex environment. You should also be a strategic thinker who is able to identify efficiencies and develop plans to improve the production platform and processes. Additionally, you should have strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication abilities, and be able to effectively collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
What the Candidate Will Do
Lead by example, mentor and grow the team establishing credibility through quality technical execution.Set the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for Production Engineering in partnership with the key platform and product partner teams.Partner and collaborate with engineering stakeholders, product managers, program managers and also be the voice of the customers to build solutions that are intuitive and satisfy our customers' needs.Architect and drive technical roadmaps, and drive an operational and service ownership philosophy for Uber.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent experience.Overall 12+ years experience in building, leading and growing a mix of software engineering and application engineering teams.Experience in building enterprise applications, services, frameworks.Experience in driving engineering and operational excellence initiatives.Experience in managing and delivering multiple streams of initiatives in parallel.Experience in setting strategic vision, driving process and system efficiencies.Must have built applications and services of scale.Ability to identify trends and promote solutions that solve challenges efficiently across multiple product areas.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong engineering mindset, with hands-on experience developing tools and platforms for engineers.Structured thinking and problem-solving skills, along with exceptional communication abilities will be crucial for success in this role as you build a strong team that partners with engineering teams across Uber.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $243,000 per year - $270,000 per year.
For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $243,000 per year - $270,000 per year.
