　　GEICO is seeking an experienced senior Engineer with a passion for building high performance, low-latency platforms, and applications. You will help drive our insurance business transformation and platform engineering domain modernization as we redefine experience for our customers.

　　Position Description

　　Our Senior Engineer works with our Distinguished Engineer and Principal Engineers to innovate and build new systems, improve, and enhance existing systems as well as identify new opportunities to apply your knowledge to solve critical problems. You will lead Strategy and Execution of a technical roadmap that will increase the velocity of delivering products and unlock new engineering capabilities. The ideal candidate has hands-on and deep technical expertise in software engineering, Data Engineering, Kubernetes, Processing of telemetry data i.e., metrics, traces, logs, probes, synthetics etc., building frameworks, automations and building observability platform using open-source technologies

　　Position Responsibilities

　　As a Senior Engineer, you will:Collaborate with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve our toughest problemsDevelop and execute technical software development strategy for the Platform Engineering domain including Service Management, Business Continuity, Recovery, Incident Response and Paging platformsAccountable for the quality, usability, and performance of the solutionsDeep hands-on experience in complex system design and data pipeline and architectures, scale and performance, tuning, with good knowledge on Docker and KubernetesProficiently leverage Grafana for effective visualization and monitoring of data sourcesExperience with Open Telemetry (OTEL) Collector, Mimir and Loki backends, Prometheus, log and metric aggregation to build robust monitoring and alerting solutionsConsistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teamsWilling to take on-call and operational supportQualificationsExperience with J2EE, XML, SQL, XML, and PowerShell ScriptingAdvance knowledge of at least one OOP languages such as Java, .NET, Go, Python, C++, etcAdvance knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript is preferred Good knowledge of one of the following languages: VB, PHP, Perl, Ruby, SQL, etc.Understand open-source databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL etc., familiar with No-SQL databases like ONgDB, Cassandra, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, etc.Experience in architecting, designing, building automation, workflows, custom objects/apps, declarative functionality, triggers, migration tools and transitioning platforms to Open Source is a big plus.Experience building and configuring flows, and process buildersStrong understanding of web service integration (REST/SOAP) and enterprise middleware integration tiersAbility to articulate channel dataflow and process flow including email, messaging, chat, mobile Push and SDK'sExcellent communication skills - needs to be able to lead projects from the front and interact with clients and sponsors on a regular basisExperience partnering with engineering teams and transferring research to productionExperience with continuous delivery (CI/CD) and Infrastructure as CodeIn-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithmsExperience solving analytical problems with quantitative approachesExperience with Windows Server Administration and Windows Event LogAbility to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environmentWilling to work on both fast development and operation environmentKnowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, test automation and related tools, operations, real-time communication)Knowledge in big data and streaming data pipeline architecture (Lambda/Kappa) and K8 clusterExperience in open-source tools like GIT/Jenkin/CircleCI, and knowledge in Terraform/Ansible is a plusExperience:4+ years of professional experience in software development, platform architecture, administration, governance, infrastructure management, installation, and maintenance of the hardware, software, and network systems3+ years of experience with architecture and design3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or hybrid data center2+ years of experience in open-source frameworksEducation:
