Primary Responsibilities:
Conducts and coordinates moderately complex tests for control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
Conducts multidisciplinary research in assisting equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software to develop software engineering activities.
Analyzes system capabilities and determines end user needs to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition to ensure current and future needs of the business are met.
Ensures hardware and software standards are met.
Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and use.
Develops software configuration standards for company-wide use.
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field and at least 5 years of progressive Software or Systems experience in the development, verification and certification of Flight Deck Avionics Systems. In the alternative, at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field and at least 3 years of Software or Systems experience in the development, verification and certification of Flight Deck Avionics Systems would be acceptable.
At least 3 years of experience with development, verification, and certification of Real time embedded Software and/or Flight Deck Avionics Systems
At least 3 years of experience with capturing requirements in a requirements management tool, such as DOORs or JAMA
At least 3 years of experience with following processes and standards related to the development of software (such as DO-178)
At least 3 years of experience working closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams
The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
