Job Description The Senior Director – Travel Sourcing and Operations serves as a beacon of leadership, fostering partnerships to enhance Visa Inc competitive edge and value. As a category group leader, you are accountable for developing strategies that yield sustainable outcomes across various business leaders and corporate functions. This involves identifying new opportunities for value and process improvement. As an integral part of the Strategic Sourcing Organization, your role encompasses building robust, effective relationships with senior leaders across multiple functions and regions. Your leadership will be pivotal in enabling, empowering, and inspiring your team. The Senior Director will oversee a direct team of 8 based in the U.S. U.K, U.A.E and Singapore to manage managing a portfolio exceeding USD200MM. This leader will be accountable for meeting departmental and functional objectives. The ideal leader for this role will exhibit a strong sense of urgency and agility, with the capability to succinctly articulate issues and alternatives to propel decision-making processes.
Essential Functions:
Crafts effective strategic policies and programs for corporate travel in alignment with internal executive travel council guidance and employee feedback.Builds and nurtures business partnerships with leadership across multiple functions within Visa to collaborate, influence, and drive sourcing strategies.Leads multiple global complex sourcing strategies for various subcategories across Corporate Travel Agencies, Hotels, Airlines, and travel technology services including scope requirements, Business Partnerships, and navigate complexity within a large global matrixed organization.Leads, develops and mentors diverse professionals specializing in strategic sourcing, travel operations and agents directly and indirectly across both technical and leadership capabilities while creating an environment that is diverse, inclusive, and encouraging.Delivers business results, including cost savings and supplier driven innovation, using deep understanding of the supply market for complex advisory and delivery services.Creates and fosters a shared vision as OneVisa by seemlessly integrating the role of strategic sourcing into various parts of the business.Supports broader business leadership teams on goal setting and annual planning by developing a trusted advisor relationship with key stakeholders across the Visa business unitsServes as a champion for change that can act decisively to drive decisions, while demonstrating agility to support the evolution of business needs.Provides high level guidance and coaching on the overall continuous strategic sourcing process from needs identification, through supplier performance management across multiple corporate services categories.Builds effective strategic relationships with external suppliers to drive and execute category strategies.Develops and manages category wide SRM plans with a focus on strategic partnerships, continuous improvement and innovation.Proactively monitors operational success metrics and drives supplier accountabilities through SLAs and KPIs. Monitors travel compliance and proactively informs leaders on opportunities and trends. This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD Preferred Qualifications
15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience15+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing in a large matrixed global organization or in the consulting industry10+ years leading both Travel Sourcing Plans and Travel Operations teams.5+ years of leading a Travel team. Proven track record of developing long-term capabilities in others and across a global organization, to develop best-in-class teams and sharing talent across the organizationDeep understanding of how Travel and Events marketplace, deep industry and/or professional relationships with market leading suppliers.Past experiences challenging the status quo by developing business cases for change through leveraging business acumen, market intelligence, and insights to drive a broad strategic impact across an organizationDemonstrated contract and agreement negotiation experience, including development of negotiating plans and strategies for corporate servicesStrong relationship-management skills and ability to communicate effectively, and collaborate with, senior-to-exec management. U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 181,800.00 to 250,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
