Position Overview
The Senior Director of Technical Sales for Global Named Accounts leads a team of technical solutions experts who help us grow business with our largest, enterprise customers by gaining an understanding of their technical needs and recommending Autodesk solutions that meet those needs. As a leader with senior managerial responsibilities, you will report directly to the Vice President of Global Named Accounts. To qualify for this role, you will have considerable experience leading a technical sales organization, along with in-depth knowledge of Autodesk's target markets globally.
Location: This position can be 100% remote in the US or Europe. Ideally, you will be based near a city with a major Autodesk office, such as San Francisco, Boston, Munich, or Barcelona.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership
Lead a global team of Technical Solutions Executives, Managers, and Directors who collaborate with Autodesk's sales teams to grow businessEnsure that your team is implementing sound technical sales strategies that increase the use of Autodesk technologies by large, enterprise customersGuide regional Technical Solutions Directors/Managers in coachingIdentify expansion opportunities based on data analysis and an understanding of the customer's technical needsUse technical expertise to better position Autodesk solutions with customersProvide high-level solution design and technology recommendations based on the customer's business initiatives and technical requirementsConvince the customer's technical decision-makers to move forward with the expanded use of Autodesk technologiesFoster employee engagement-attracting and retaining top talent, ensuring diversity and inclusion, and leading the team through changes and improvements
Sales Alignment
Be a member of the global Named Accounts sales leadership teamProvide recommendations for the ongoing growth of the Autodesk businessCollaborate with leaders in Worldwide Sales to make sure Sales strategies and Technical Sales strategies are aligned
Cross-Functional Alignment
Collaborate with leaders in other organizations, including Customer Success, Global Revenue Operations, Worldwide Marketing, and Product Development to ensure alignment with Technical SalesUse your team's knowledge of customer needs to positively influence Autodesk strategies for platform development and product directionMake sure your team is contributing to the development of impactful Customer Success Plans by gaining an understanding of the customer's technical needs, and by articulating the technical solutions and outcomes that will be delivered as part of the planEnsure that your team is collaborating with the Customer Success team to transition expansion opportunities into technology adoption
Minimum Qualifications
15+ years of technical sales management experience, including experience in global leadership rolesTech company experience, including experience leading teams that sell enterprise software and software-as-a-service (SaaS)Managerial skills with experience resolving conflicts and managing performance through creative and proactive approaches to coaching and recognitionFamiliarity with Autodesk's business and an understanding of technology trends in our target markets globallyExperience building influential relationships at multiple levels of an organizationExperience supporting customer-facing interactions as an executive sponsorSuccess aligning teams in a matrixed corporate environmentExperience adapting to changing priorities and business initiativesBachelor's degree or Master's degreeAbility to travel globally, more than 60% of the time

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based sales roles, we expect a starting On-Target Earnings (OTE) between $312,100 and $451,770. OTE is comprised of base salary plus commission target for sales roles. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries and/or OTE for sales roles, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
