Based in the US, the Senior Director, Head of Tax & Treasury will be responsible for all tax related matters globally, including income and non-income tax matters, on a global basis. Tax responsibilities include accounting under US GAAP, tax compliance and strategy for a growing global, public Biotech company. In addition, this role will be responsible for treasury activities globally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
TAX ACCOUNTING
Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of global tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures in accordance with GAAP.Manage internal control structure (SOX) to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance functions.Identify tax exposures and determine proper GAAP accounting and balance sheet amounts.Ensure US and local taxes on international operations are adequately provided for in current and projected financial statements.TAX COMPLIANCE
Ensure all required returns, reports, and payments are timely filed and appropriately documented globally.Ensure all cross-border transactions and transfer pricing issues are properly documented and supported for tax filing purposes.Monitor tax law changes in the US and foreign jurisdictions to identify potential planning opportunities or issues.GLOBAL TAX STRATEGY & PLANNING
Develop appropriate tax planning initiatives/strategies and recommendations in partnership with external tax advisors.Develop and implement tax planning strategies to reduce tax cost for all types of tax. Including experience with global transfer pricing activities.Provide analysis of the tax impact of proposed transactions and develop tax efficient solutions.TREASURY & BANKING
Lead global cash management activities to ensure cash flows support current & future operational needs.Perform financial analysis of investment positions with an emphasis on maximizing return and improving liquidity, while minimizing risk and uncertainty.Manage debt facilities and relationships; monitors debt and makes recommended actions to ex cutive leadership on debt position.Manage finances against external risk (liquidity, interest rate, forex, tax, policy etc.)Key contributor in our global financial planning processMaintain productive relationships with banking, insurance, and external accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities.Monitor financial activities and details, such as cash flow and reserve levels, to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met.Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Experience & knowledge
10 years minimum total experience, including experience with national public accounting firm and a corporate lead management role is required.Public Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical company experience a plusIncome tax accounting experience, including managing global tax provisions.Global treasury experience at a multi-national company a plusInternational experience: exposures to a range of geographies including UK/EuropeKnowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws and reporting requirements.Solid communication and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization and external service provides.Competent computer skills to perform essential functions listed above.High energy & results oriented.High level of collaboration required and oversee activities of external tax advisors.ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES
