This is your chance to be part of an in-house Legal team at a top global hospitality company! As a Senior Counsel Employment, you will support the team in guiding Hilton's legal activities to ensure maximum protection while engaging in global business and ensuring compliance with our legal obligations.
What will I be doing?
On the Legal team reporting to Vice President Senior Counsel Employment, you will provide counsel and strategic guidance on employment law issues, policies, and programs.
Your key responsibilities will also include:
Providing day-to-day advice on all types of employment matters, including for example: recruiting, onboarding, leaves of absence, workplace accommodations, wage and hour law, anti-discrimination and retaliation, internal investigations, pay equity, contingent workforce and agency workers, affirmative action plans, performance management, terminations, and other related employment legal issuesMonitoring and analyzing developments in U.S. and international employment law-related legislative changes and associated compliance obligationsManaging administrative charges, demand letters, and government audits alleging violations of employment lawsDeveloping and implementing scalable HR-related policies and processes to ensure best practices, consistency across the organization, and compliance with applicable laws and regulationsPartnering with cross-functional teams to provide strategic, business-oriented employment law guidance for the successful execution of company initiativesProviding strategic guidance on HR initiatives and issues impacting the company’s corporate, managed, and franchised hotel locations including M&A, business restructurings, and unique workforce innovations.Drafting, reviewing, and advising on employment-related agreementsEducating HR and business partners on legal requirements and trends, including the development and preparation of training programs and materialsWhat are we looking for?
To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law schoolAn active membership of a U.S. State Bar and be able to meet the eligibility requirements for in-house practice in the Commonwealth of VirginiaMinimum of 8 years of experience as an employment attorneyMinimum of 5 years experience in an in-house roleIn-depth experience advising multi-state and multi-country employer(s) on various employment related legal issuesFlexibility to approach legal challenges with a business-partner- mentality to provide strategic. creative, solution-oriented results that balance risk with business goalsIt would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
