Position Overview:
As the Head of Hybrid Cloud Fabric, this leader will play a pivotal role in shaping GEICO's cloud infrastructure strategy and roadmap to support their technology transformation journey.
They will be responsible for driving the design, build-out and management of GEICO's hybrid cloud architecture, ensuring optimal performance, security, scalability, and cost-efficiency. Additionally, they will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive the adoption of cloud technologies that align with GEICO's business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:Defining and delivering a robust hybrid cloud architecture strategy that aligns with the company's digital transformation objectives. Developing the roadmap and blueprints for cloud adoption, build-out, migration, and integration, ensuring alignment with security and compliance standards.Staying abreast with the latest advancements in cloud technologies, ensuring that GEICO remains at the forefront of hybrid cloud solutions. Providing technical guidance to the team and contributing to the development of best practices and standards.Managing the partnership with cloud technology vendors and service providers, as well as making build vs buy decisions for GEICO.Team Management, Collaboration and Communication:
Leading a team of technical cloud architects and engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.Foster a collaborative environment, promoting open communication and knowledge sharing among team members and cross-functional stakeholders. Present technical updates and progress reports to executive leadership and other relevant stakeholders.Quality Assurance and Compliance:Monitoring and managing the performance, availability, and scalability of GEICO's hybrid cloud environment, and implementing automation and orchestration strategies to streamline provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance processes.Optimizing cloud resource utilization and costs by implementing cost-saving measures, monitoring resource consumption, and providing recommendations for cost-efficient solutions.Ensuring GEICO's hybrid cloud infrastructure meets industry standards and regulatory requirements for data privacy and security and developing and enforcing policies and procedures to maintain a secure and compliant environment. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.Proven track record of designing, building, and managing hybrid cloud solutions in complex enterprise environments, leveraging open source technologies. Strong knowledge of networking principles and technologies is important, including network protocols, routing, switching, load balancing, VPNs, and SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network). Understanding network connectivity requirements and optimizing network performance in a hybrid cloud environment is essential.Experience with automation and orchestration tools, such as Ansible, Terraform, or Kubernetes, is valuable. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and experience in automating deployment and management tasks in a hybrid cloud environment is beneficial.Familiarity with virtualization technologies, such as VMware, Hyper-V, or OpenStack, is often needed. Knowledge of virtual machine management, resource allocation, and virtual networking is important for managing and optimizing hybrid cloud environments.In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including services, networking, security, and architecture best practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner and influence across multiple business and functional lines, up to Executive Committee. Able to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.Exceptional leadership skills to inspire and support a high-performing technical team.Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect are a plus.#LI-WB1
Annual Salary
$195,000.00 - $315,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
