THE ROLE
The Senior Director Analytics and Reporting is responsible for the direction, oversight, and strategic vision of analytics and research to support: clinical, economic, quality, employer/client, provider, and operational reporting, analytics, and associated business strategies. This position will oversee the analytic teams in extraction, aggregation, and quality assurance of data from multiple sources. The Senior Director Analytics and Reporting will direct the development, including devising appropriate analytic and quantitative methods, and execution of analytical and research activities to provide senior leadership with information and tools for strategic decision making and planning, medical and Rx utilization and cost, population health, clinical outcomes, provider patterns and variations, operational performance metrics. The Senior Director will be expected to help guide and develop strategic initiatives related to clinical quality, employer group reporting, and medical economics, including strategies related to Ayin Insights.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Direct HEDIS, outcomes measurement, predictive modeling and risk stratification, variation and trend analytics, and other population health related analytics.
Devise new analytic methods to solve unique problems.
Mentor managers and analyst and fosters an environment the encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
Ensure teams are using strong controls with a high degree of data quality and integrity.
Guide and develop strategy related to clinical quality, employer group reporting, medical economics, pharmacy analysis, and other initiatives.
Collaborate with peers across PHP, Ayin, and PSJH to remove roadblocks, share knowledge, and anticipate analytic needs.
Ensure that team is utilizing appropriate statistical and quantitative methods in order to translate data into meaningful and actionable information.
Present key analyses with appropriate level of detail analysis for senior leaders.
Manage vendor and consulting relationships.
Routinely reviews team's performance.
Ensures appropriate and efficient resource utilization to achieve company's and Informatics' goals.
Develops and measures against team's annual operating budget.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, or similar program with clinical and quantitative requirements (preferred)
Bachelor's Degree required
Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA), Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA or FSA), Health Information Manager (HIM), or similar certifications in analytic methods (preferred)
10 or more years of experience in healthcare analytics
5 years of managing analytic teams (preferred)
Demonstrated knowledge of HEDIS, outcomes measurement, predictive modeling and risk stratification, variation and trend analytics
Demonstrated knowledge of statistical and quantitative methods
Ability to translate data into meaningful and actionable information
Ability to solve complex problems including devising new analytic methods to solve unique problems
Ability to think strategically with appropriate level of detail analysis for specific audiences
Ability to effectively present to senior leaders drawing clear and concise conclusions
Experience mentoring managers and analysts
Demonstrated ability to develop highly effective teams
Creates a culture that ensures strong controls, data quality, and integrity
Ability to influence peers across the enterprise
