Job Description
Intel is seeking a seasoned Senior DevOps Engineer to lead a team of engineers building the next generation of large-scale AI training environments. As a pivotal member of our team, the DevOps Lead will be instrumental in integrating best practices into the software development lifecycle and ensuring the reliability, security, and automation of large AI systems.
The Senior DevOps Engineer ensures the efficient planning, provisioning, installation/configuration, maintenance, and/or operations of the hardware and software infrastructure required to build, validate, and release a wide variety of hardware and software products and projects. You will work closely with development and quality teams to derive infrastructure design requirements, build, test, and automate tools appropriate to the project, and/or the implementation and maintenance of those systems within the constraints imposed by Intel enterprise infrastructure (IT) and other governing bodies. You will own the end-to-end delivery pipeline, including source code management, versioning/tagging strategy, component build and packaging, test automation tooling, release staging, acceptance and/or indicators, required security and IP scans, any third-party conformance tools, artifact storage and distribution. You will also identify opportunities and implement solutions for increased automation, reliability, and/or velocity within the pipeline through implementation of robust infrastructure telemetry, KPIs, and indicators, and by monitoring and applying industry best practices.
Areas of responsibility for this role include, but not limited to the following:
Innovate, and develop robust solutions through automation - IaC (Infrastructure as code), DevOps tools (CICD, Code quality, security, and monitoring).Ensure the infrastructure, services, and applications developed meets all standards including security, monitoring, performance, and SLAs.Releasing production code and developing PaaS/SaaS/IaaS.Collaborate with development and operations teams to design, implement, and maintain automated infrastructure deployments.Implement security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including code scanning, vulnerability assessment, and threat modeling.Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, enabling continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment of applications.Develop and maintain containerization using KubernetesStandardize deployment templates: (Linux, self-healing application stacks)Integrate InfoSec controls, such as automated vulnerability scanning, static and dynamic analysis, and security testing, into the CI/CD process.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with InfoSec standards and industry best practices.Automate and orchestrate processes, including incident response, outage detection, recovery, and new deployments.Stay updated with emerging DevOps and AI trends, tools, and practices, and provide recommendations for implementing new technologies.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers in DevOps, and leadership across the DevOps team.

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 9+ years of experience orMaster's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 6+ years of experience orPhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 4+ years of experience.8+ years of experience implementing DevOps processes, practices, and a willingness to build and maintain the necessary infrastructure.8+ years of experience developing and writing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Github, Artifactory).7+ years of experience in the development and deployment on Linux.7+ years of experience working with Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).6+ years of experience working with Infrastructure automation frameworks (Github, Ansible, SaltStack, Artifactory).6+ years of experience working with Infrastructure monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana).4+ years of experience working with Storage systems such as Weka.io, Netapp, Lustre, etc.4+ years of experience in Scripting (Bash, Python).4+ years of experience in Networking and DNS.
Additional Preferred Desired Qualifications:
Experience with SaltStack, Ansible, Kubernetes.Hands-on working experience with Tinkerbell, Ironic, MaaS, or similar OS provisioning technologies.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $162,041.00-$259,425.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience
Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
