What you'll do...
This role requires an exceptional individual who is intellectually curious, analytical, enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and a self-starter to join our team as Senior Manager, Advanced Analytics for Data Intelligence. This role is a highly visible individual contributor position central to the continued growth, efficiency and success of Walmart Connect Analytics team. The role will have broad exposure across Analytics, Engineering, Sales and Marketing teams within Walmart Connect. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics and data analytics with a deep understanding of retail/media industry.
Roles Specific Responsibilities:
Build, interpret, quantify, visualize, and communicate the impact of data and other business intelligence into meaningful reporting and analysis for advertisers.Design and implement semantic data layers that consolidate data from multiple sources for seamless access and analysis. Ensure and enforce industry standards.Implement data validation processes and data quality rules. Collaborate with XFN teams, proactively monitor and resolve data quality issues.Work with large, disparate datasets and other business intelligence sources to conduct ad hoc "back of the envelope" analyses and report on market trends, consumer insights, and advertiser or brand specific performance.Leverage knowledge of SQL, HIVE, mainstream reporting, and other business intelligence tools, to aid in the design and development of complex data pipelines to process large datasets.Support development of executive level presentations and perspectives.Collaborate with counterparts in business, engineering, and data science to find impactful solutions to business problems.Drive strategic initiatives including identifying issues, creating hypotheses, executing the analysis and translating data into meaningful insights and actions.Identify gaps and opportunities for improving existing data sources and engage with broader Walmart teams to acquire and summarize these sources within the WMG environment.Facilitate the evangelization of the team's charters, plans, and processes across the Sales & Marketing organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field and 4 years' experience in data analytics or related field OR 6 years' experience in data analytics or related field.Strong knowledge of data modeling, database design and ETL concepts.Experience in maintaining and supporting large distributed systems, building data architecture for semantic layersExperience designing and implementing reporting solutionsStrong data visualization skills using TableauStrong programming skills in R/Python with a strong hands-on knowledge of Hive/Hadoop/Google Cloud Platform environmentsStrong spreadsheet and presentation skills with an exceptional ability to communicate new ideas and findingsSelf-starter looking to develop and apply analytical frameworks to help solve complex open-ended business questions with relevant dataA good balance of strong analytical skills and thought leadershipThrives under pressure, balancing multiple workstreams and priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research, Marketing Analytics or any related quantitative field7+ years of prior professional work experience in analytical/quantitative roles - retail, media, consulting, advertising industry is a strong plus
