In this role, you will sit with the Litigation and Regulatory Operations team, and work with paralegals, business analysts, Legal technologists, lawyers and global business leaders to operationalize the production of legal work and reduce risk for Amazon. You’ll enjoy breaking things to see how they work, improving on what works, discarding what doesn't, and learning from both. You should be passionate about technology and solving high-impact, ambiguous, business problems in the legal space.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you should be an expert with data lake fundamentals around storage, compute, etc., familiar with multiple data processing stacks like Spark, Presto/Trino, and core data concepts (e.g. Data Modeling and Reporting). You should have deep understanding of the architecture for enterprise level data lake/mesh solutions using NAWS stack or other cloud stacks. You should be an expert in the design, creation, management, and business use of large data-sets. The candidate is expected to be able to build efficient, flexible, extensible, and scalable ETL and reporting solutions. You should be enthusiastic about learning new technologies and be able to implement solutions using them to provide new functionality to the users or to scale the existing platform. Key job responsibilities
Design, implement, and support a platform providing secured access to large datasets.
Architect , develop and maintain end to end scalable data infrastructure and data pipelines
Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
Develop the teams' data strategy and technical road map of data storage & pipelines design and implementation
Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, scripting and AWS big data technologies.
Designing and implementing complex ETL pipelines and other BI solutions.
Work closely with business owners, developers, Business Intelligence Engineers to explore new data sources and deliver the data.
Keep up to date with advances in big data technologies and run pilots to design the data architecture to scale with the increased data volume using AWS.
Empower the team for self-servicing by providing the necessary skills to handle complex tasks independently. Ensure that the team can efficiently manage and troubleshoot data-related issues, leading to increased autonomy and productivity. along with fostering a culture of self-reliance.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of data engineering experience
Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Experience with SQL
Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
Experience mentoring team members on best practices
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
Experience operating large data warehouses

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $123,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
