About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer for our Conversational Commerce team. This Senior Data Engineer position will report to the Data Engineering manager.
In this role you will build very large, scalable platforms using cutting edge data technologies. This is not a "maintain existing platform" or "make minor tweaks to current code base" kind of role. We are effectively building from the ground up and plan to leverage the most recent Big Data technologies. If you enjoy building new things without being constrained by technical debt, this is the job for you!
The data core platforms are responsible for data ingress / egress within the ecosystem as well as an orchestration layer of complex data transformations, refining raw data from source into a rationalized view of enterprise data that can be consumed in a governed way. This role will be responsible for not only individual contributions to the data core platforms but the design, data quality and patterns it uses.
In this role you will directly contribute to data engineering implementations, monitoring, alerting, logging, and debugging/troubleshooting of the data core platforms. Additionally, work on scalable architecture design and data modeling. As a leader within the data team, you will work cross functionally , manage a diverse team of data engineers , and possess strong coding, design, infrastructure and data modeling skills.
What You'll Do
Conceptualize and own the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects, while evaluating design and operational cost-benefit tradeoffs within systemsCreate and contribute to frameworks that improve the efficacy of logging data, while working with data infrastructure to triage issues and resolveCollaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs, representing key data insights in a meaningful wayDefine and manage SLA for all data sets in allocated areas of ownershipSolve our most challenging data integration problems, utilizing optimal ETL patterns, frameworks, query techniques, sourcing from structured and unstructured data sourcesWork on BigData technologies like HIVE, distributed data systems like GCS, Big Query and other GCP projectsBuild and Optimize pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems to facilitate easier development of data artifacts What You'll Need
5+ years of experience in data engineering, platform/infrastructure engineering, DevOps or similar role2+ years of experience with cloud computing like GCP, BigQuery, Azure, AWS.Experience with data integration tools like AirflowExperience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and programming language PythonAbility to drive engineering excellence, optimize all data engineering developmentWork experience in ecommerce and/or conversational commerce
This role can be in New York, Sunnyvale/San Bruno/ San Francisco, Seattle

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00-$216,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
- Stock equity incentives
