DESCRIPTION
Senior leader responsible for the delivery of the vision and strategy for data & analytics at a leading grocery retailer, including overall accountability for D&A standards and capability development. This role will be responsible for evangelising D&A at the senior-most levels of the business, generating buy in and sponsorship for D&A initiatives and for the new D&A operating model.
Our client is a leading grocery retailer based in Bucharest. EPAM carried out a consultancy engagement for the retailer at the end of 2023 in which, after a detailed assessment, we defined them new data & analytics strategy, operating model, and high-level roadmap. The initial step on the roadmap is to appoint a new VP of Data & Analytics to lead the implementation of our strategic recommendations. Our client has now asked EPAM to provide an experienced data consultant (who understands change management), to fill this role on an interim basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Pursuading and influencing business stakeholders up to C-level, addressing their challenges, generating buy-in and sponsorship for D&A initiatives and for the new D&A operating model
Translating the strategic D&A roadmap into a detailed and prioritized implementation roadmap and data onboarding plan, aligned with business needs and delivery capabilities
Overseeing the execution of the roadmap, including swim lanes for business analytics, dashboards & reporting, data engineering, data governance, data literacy, data product management
Working in close collaboration with business stakeholders and technology experts to facilitate D&A roadmap execution
Identifying quick-win business outcomes (for example new dashboards); overseeing requirements capture and delivery of these
Leading a culture change to create a data-driven organization
REQUIREMENTS
Experienced data & analytics leader
Strong influencing skills to drive organisational change
Understanding of retail business
Confident in interfacing with and overseeing data engineering teams and data architects
NICE TO HAVE
Experience of data governance (defining/implementing DG model)
Experience with SAFe delivery framework
Understanding of Azure cloud, Databricks and Power BI software
Understanding of SAP ecosystem, including SAP BW (HANA)
Understanding of Data Lakehouse
