Overview of Department :
Responsible for all aspects related to compliance with governmental rules and regulations on payments to healthcare providers, performance of governmental and contractually required reporting, financial accounting related to governmental and contracted payments, liaison on audits of governmental reports and of financial reports, and perform analysis related to the impacts of changes in government payment regulations and contracted payments.
Also responsible for providing
Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement support and executing government payment strategies across Northwell. This includes planning and preparing of the annual Medicare/Medicaid cost report and filings.
Coordinate the completion of DSH, Medicare Bad Debts, Wage Index, and Geographic Reclassification projects. In addition, this person will closely assess, track, and monitor Northwell's participation in state-level supplemental payments programs and will be asked to assist with regulatory research.
For assigned facilities, calculate the third party receivables/payables, ensuring revenue and receivables reporting is in compliance with GAAP. The Senior Reimbursement Financial Analyst will have 2+ years of knowledge of government payment regulation, third party revenue accounting practices, Microsoft Excel plus have good communication skills
Job Description
Analyzes, verifies, authorizes, processes and reports on complex and critical financial information related to system-wide Corporate Finance activities. Designs, develops and implements systems or procedures resulting in the accurate reporting of financial or system data. Guides Financial Analysts and support staff in completion of projects and duties.
Job Responsibility
Analyzes, verifies, tracks, authorizes and reports on complex financial indicators (registration dates, accounts receivables, account coding and charging, cash flow, budgets, GL, P&L, statistical data and reserves) in support of system-wide Corporate Financial activities.
Reports results monthly, quarterly, year to date or year/year on departmental requests, as directed.
Researches, tracks and reports statistical variances; identifies and investigates issues.
Designs, develops and modifies systems and procedures to enhance departmental processing, as needed.
Conducts complex and critical studies and analyses.
Maintains proprietary databases including data integrity, timeliness of data input and accuracy of data.
Conducts internal audits involving coding, charging, reimbursements, etc. to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.
Serves as audit team lead, as directed.
Maintains compliance with various state, federal and industry standards and regulations.
Troubleshoots problems and researches variance causation; interprets data and recommends appropriate course of action.
Operates under limited guidance and work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Job Qualification
Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
3-5 years of relevant experience, required.
Preferred Skills:
2 years Interpreting Medicare and Medicaid payment regulation and completing Medicare and Medicaid cost reports. and
2-3 years Recording revenue and determining cost settlement receivables/payables for Medicare and Medicaid payments

The salary range for this position is $66,220-$108,180/year
