About Senior Content Designer, Google Ads

  Minimum qualifications:

  Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communication, Literature, Business, Marketing, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  5 years of experience working in the field of user experience or content design.

  Experience on UX-focused product writing and shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects.

  Portfolio highlighting UX-focused writing samples and style guidelines.

  Preferred qualifications:

  Experience working in a complex, cross-functional technology organization.

  Experience developing information architecture for complex documentation sets or product suites, including localization and accessibility best practices.

  Experience working with engineering teams and user research.

  Familiarity with user experience research principles and practices, and how to use data to provide informed user insights.

  Buying, Analytics and Measurement (BAM) UX is a group of impassioned designers, researchers and writers, defining the user experience of the Google Marketing Platform and critical pieces of the broader Google advertising ecosystem. Our unique team solves deep product and business problems within Google Ads, plus horizontal services that impact Search Ads 360 and other products.

  Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

  Create UI text that facilitates user navigation, as well on-boarding, promos, error messages, instructional materials, and other components of the end-to-end user experience.

  Drive vision for product language and content across a product or subject-matter domain, and ensure cohesive product narratives. Document your strategies with guidelines, and establish best practices and strategy principles.

  Manage projects from needs assessment to implementation. Identify opportunities, establish priorities, secure resources, and manage stakeholders.

  Collaborate with designers, researchers, legal, marketing, product managers, and engineers. Influence and adapt to stakeholders and their feedback.

  Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to junior UX writers and educate cross-functional partners on the role of UX writing and content strategy throughout the product development process.
